Ukemi has saved my ass on ice like a dozen times. I should start keeping tally.

I've also used ukemi to impress the ladies at work. When helping a nurse take a patient to a post op recovery bay, with me running backwards pulling the stretcher with the nurse pushing, I tripped on a tray table base, and did a smooth ushiro ukemi back to standing. For some reason, this super impressed a nurse who was a dead ringer for Rachel Nichols, and she couldn't stop talking about how coordinated I was.

asfasdsdfs @ my strict "Don't shit where you eat." policy....

Guy tried to snatch my gym back as I was getting off a train. I snapped his elbow with a straight armlock to the ground (Waki Gatame).

Knocked some junkie out with Osoto Gari who was hassling me for money.

Broke an Aikido guys ribs with Harai Makikomi onto the hardwood floor of a sports hall because he was talking shit about Judo.

That's it. A friend of mine did Osoto a drunk dude onto his head once. That was quite funny.

Oh, not much to it really. There was a clash in timetables at the uni sportshall so we had to share with some dorks who were doing Aikido-Jutsu or something. Anyway, the instructors thought it would be good for us all to mix in. Judo had the mats, Aikido were on the wooden floor. There was this smug dude who kept with the "oh I'd just do this", "oh that wouldn't work if I didn't let you grab me" nonsense. He asked me what I'd do if he stepped to the side and blocked my hand with his hand, so I just launched him with Harai Makikomi. I had had quite enough of his jibber-jabber by this time, you see. Anyway,I broke a couple of his ribs and he went to the hospital. I think I was a 3rd Kyu at the time.

my junior year in college some dude was talking shit about my SF Giants during a halloween party. he did the typical posturing up and try to look tough move, he was 6'8" or so. too bad he didn't realize the coffee table behind him when i shoved him.

boy toppled over like a freshly sawed tree. a 1 person tabletop.

he then quickly left out of embarrassment.

    a quick shove FTW

the servers are powered by machismo, you see, so when not too long ago einarr decided to flex his guns in public, they had to disconnect him before the server overloaded.

My freshman year of college someone on the hall fucked with some of my stuff when I had passed out from drinking too much. Stole my comforter and put a gay porn background on my computer. The next morning I told him I wanted my bed cover back and he refused. It got physical and I took his back standing and choked him unconscious with an RNC.

Another time some dumbass tried to tackle me because I was mocking his "macho" arms out walk in front of my friend. Just guillotined him and he woke up shortly thereafter.

This was before I ever did BJJ but I kept two drunk friends of mine from fighting at a party once by bodylocking one of them and not letting the other close to him. The guy I bodylocked (maybe 5'8", 160lbs) kept weakly trying to go at the other dude (6'2", 330lbs) but I didn't let him.

It was kinda funny since I literally just held a bodylock on my friend for like 10 minutes but he was so shithoused that he didn't really care or even have any strength to resist me lol.

I've never used submissions to solve a physical conflict before, but if I did it would probably be a standing kimura.
    What about the ninjas?

Surely it must have been hard to finish the choke as they cut off your fingers and walkie-talkied for more ninjas.

I used a standing waki gatami on a 10 year old kid in Nicaragua who was trying to steal my wallet at the airport.

I'm gonna assume it was the unnamed black teen comment to the police office on the first page.

Most grappling i did in "teh streets" which isn't much has been primarily muay thai clinch focused or a judo throw; which generally ends it right there with a ko or broken ribs/arm/leg. Unless you count grabbing and parrying in order to strike as grappling, yeah not much. As a kid i guillotined a lot of kids and DDT'd them on tarmack. The situations i've been in never called for much grappling and for others it would have found me in a hospital.
