I was a huge Silverchair fan growing up and I know they got a lot of shit for being "Nirvana in Pajamas" but they were the same age as I am and they grew up and matured with me. Most people only remember "Tomorrow" and a few other songs but as they matured, they ended up making more and more interesting music and basically became a prog pop band by the end.

Lead singer Daniel Johns left a few years ago and I thought that was it. I completely forgot he was working on a solo album and well...it's certainly...different.

The guy made an R&B album....

I've always been impressed by his vocals and you could tell he wanted to try some new things but this one surprised me. It almost sounds like a joke but there are definitely some good songs on there. I'm still digesting it but I guess I'm proud he's doing what he wants to do and glad he didn't drag Silverchair's name along for the ride just to cash in (I'm talking about you Billy Corgan).

One interesting thing is he covered "Smells Like Teen Spirit" in his new style and he said he did it almost as a reset of his career and put it to bed once and for all. I guess if you are going to do a cover, do it like this...

And here's a cut from his album.

Only was a fan of Frogstomp. Bought the tape when it came out in 95. After that, not a huge fan.

Loved frogstomp and neon ballroom surprisingly.

My favourite silver chair albums are pretty much in order of release, did love them and saw them a few times, the last album lost me big time though.

Huge silverchair fan. Seen them live several times and they are GREAT live

Diorama is one of the goat albums IMO. My chair rankings go diorama, neon ballroom, young modern, frogstomp, freak

I got his solo RnB album it's okay. The dissociative album is damn solid though and u should get it if ur a chair fan

Not the biggest fan but they had 10 or so songs I enjoyed. Israels son was my fave but I was raging against the machine at the time as well.

Silverchair absolutley reigns on this song

Not the popular choice, but Neon Ballroom is actually my favorite album of theirs. Nice mix of heavy stuff and experimental songs.

Do You Feel The Same is probably my favorite Silverchair song.

I loved "Open Fire", definitely one of my favorite songs by them

this live version is amazing
