Any other progressives here feel betrayed by the Democrats?

Stein has never once held political office. I can't believe progressives are so outrageously unyielding that they would find themselves considering an absolute political neophyte for the highest office in the world.
no one voting for her actually thinks she can win. Its using your vote to tell the establishment which direction you want the platform to steer. If she overperforms in November, then the Democrat policy positions nudge left.

Couldn't you pick an election without Donald Trump running as the GOP nominee for this protest voting?
Trump has no path to victory. Every Bernie supporter can vote Jill and Hillary's path to the White House remains secure. Despite the new linkbait 538 article, this election is going to be a blowout for Clinton. A bigger margin of victory than the last two, and those werent even close.

Unless there is some haily mary smoking gun in the unreleased emails, Trump is going to suffer one of the most embarassing defeats in recent politics.

She going to actually do anything though? This is why I don't get why people try to get their ideas on the platform before the person is in power. Once they are in power, no one holds them accountable and they can do whatever. Just compare all of the things Obama promised, stuff that would have been doable like closing Gitmo and being transparent, then did the exact opposite.

Hold the people in power responsible and hold them to their word. If they are just going to ignore what they promised to do, then what good are their promises?

The public did hold Obama accountable for many things. The ACA, DACA, the Paris Climate Change Agreement, the Keystone pipeline, not going to war in Libya and a few others all came about because of public pressure.

Of course, it's not nearly enough but none of those things would have happened if not for people speaking out (aka, those dreaded activists). But that's how politics should work- constant engagement by the public and constantly demanding that representatives do the public's will.

Hillary isn't in power so the most they can do is get her to make promises. Once she gets in power, it's right back to pressuring her and the rest of the government.

Hillary "Lopan" Clinton does not approve of insubordination among Democrats.

That's exactly the problem. She's no more leftist than Bernie. In fact, she's probably considerably less so (except on environmental issues and women's rights...yuck). She's probably not even as leftist as Tim Kaine.

So it sends no message. That message was already sent. There's only one third party candidate worthy of a protest vote, and that's Gary Johnson.

Johnson is the smart protest vote for Republicans if they want the party to have a future, as young conservatives align more with him than the likes of Cruz or Kasich.

But Jill no more leftist than Bernie?? She has far more radically liberal positions, some ridiculously unreasonable- cancellation of existing student debt, banning military drone use, and ending all aid to Israel, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

You expect Bernie supporters to bend over again and just take it?

If kicking out Bernie delegates, replacing them with actors, installing white noise machines to drown them out etc....wasn't the last straw then they are spineless if they support the very people that silenced them

They will. The majority will vote for Hillary once they're behind that curtain, no matter what they say.

Majority of Bernie supporters won't go vote. Just like Brexit, the youth will talk a big game on social media, then stay at home and get baked on election day.

You don't think at worst Stein's rhetoric is at least as far left as Bernie?

I mean yeah she never held office, so she is really a big question mark.

When I hear her talk about economics, she uses a lot of Bernie's language though.

This isnt about winning an election, because Jill has no chance, its about sending a message to the dem party that we wont blindly support them anymore.
White privilege is feeling empowered enough to vote for a third party because you know if Trump wins you wont be the one getting lynched or deported.
Any democrats that aren't voting for Hillary are flaunting their white privilege and should feel ashamed of themselves.
