He hasn't fought in over a year. He pulled out of a fight with KZ in late october citing a torn bicep, but he said that would only keep him sidelined for like 4-6 weeks. Yet here we are 6 months later with no news from Frankie.

He's turning 38 this year. He's the oldest guy in the top ten at FW, so a year off at this age is bad news. He should be fighting someone like Bektic or Emmet in order to secure his spot in the division, especially considering Volkanovski is about to leap frog him if he beats Aldo.

This smaller guys have an earlier expiration date in my opinion that speed, reflexes slowing down is a real killer to anything bellow the WW division.

Even if he comes back his best is behind him and has a year or two in the top 10 at best, tittle forget about it.

This is unfortunately true. They start slowing down at 30 and are usually fucked by 33 much less hanging on till 36 like he did

Hopefully is Max's next defense at FW after Dustin sparks him in the FOTY

I guess he has the advantage of being a wrestler and the majority of them seem to age better then other styles/backgrounds but even so you get a younger dude just exploit that age factor like how Ortega did, no way that dude is a better striker but he made him look slow and he was the way bigger guy on top of it.

Yeah, I don't have any hopes of him winning another title, but I do think he can add a few more top ten wins to his already great resume. His resume might rival Hendo's in terms of the insane amount of high level competition he has faced by the time he is done.

Frankie is too hesitant to always fight like Frankie. He was getting predictable. Taking time away is a good move.

Glad you said that part about Volk. If Volk gets by Aldo he should get a title shot. Hell depending on what happens with Max over the weekend Aldo Volk could be for a title shot. I like Frankie but he's not getting a title shot without beating a few guys now. I'd actually rather see him against Zabit, he'd definitely test Zabit more than Stephens.

I'm into a Frankie vs Emmet fight. That would be an awesome scrap.

You're kidding there's no way he's next in line for a title shot. If Volk gets through the contender killer that Aldo has become he's clearly deserving of the next shot if their bout doesn't end up being a title bout already which could happen depending on the outcome of Max and Dustin's bout this weekend which hopefully you're right will be a FOTY contender. Even if Aldo wins it's a tough argument to suggest Frankie should get the next shot. Incidentally I think Max beats Dustin, though I'm hoping I'm wrong.

He's been zabit's training partner for several years now. Even before zabit debuted in the UFC, frankie was hyping him up. I doubt they'd ever fight.

Ah fair call, even it was a number one contender bout? Team mates fighting isn't unheard of. If Zabit's out then I'd go with Bektic, maybe Frankie can become the hype killer.
