Chicago is Shidokan country, and is the location of their US headquarter. Shidokan is a kyokushin offshot, that encourages crosstraining in kickboxing and MMA. But Shidokan karate is basically kyokushin, although they allow some more grabbing and throwing in their competition rules.

If you prefer straight kyokushin, you could also try contacting
Shihan Leslaw Samitowski. He is a branchchief for the IKO1 organization of kyokushin in US, and is based in Chicago. He has produced several top level fighters over the years.
Im sure he would be happy to give directions to the nearest kyokushin dojo there.
His contact info can be found at

You may also be interested in miura dojo, run by Miyuki Miura, a kyokushin legend who now run his own organization independent dojo.

Right outside of Chicago in Oak Park is Miura Dojo.(right off of 290 at Harlem) He's been brought up when others have asked this same question on here.

Whoops, just noticed the first response listed this.
