Poatan is just on another level. Also as a side note I know Smith gets a lot of hate but apparently he's a super nice dude in real life. I know a buddy who approached him and said he's a solid guy. Anthony was super humble and tried to get to know my buddy as opposed to just talk about himself.

As Smith said, Rountree is hittable and not many hit as hard as Poatan.

Rountree has nowhere near the skill level of Alex, this is a guy who got beaten up by Cutelaba, Cutelaba is a mega meathead, very little skill and finesse, all anger and loading up on every punch.. he gets beaten and finished always by anyone decent in UFC. I just can't get it out of my mind that if a guy like that can land a lot on Rountree then Alex is gonna lay him out. Alex is so accurate and sharp and has soooooooo much striking experience.

Meh, he won by finish on the ground but there was still striking exchanges and he was out landing Rountree, and Cutelaba is nowhere near the level of Alex, Cutelaba is all meathead and anger, he always gets beat by anyone decent. Alex is so much better, heavily favor him to win

Rountree is like the perfect opponent for Alex from the UFC's perspective, except for the name value. Looks like an action figure and has an extremely exciting and violent stand-up up game that's very casual friendly, but it's still very low risk for one of their main stars who they are protecting. And even if Rountree wins, you know the fight won't be boring. If Ank would win though... They fear it might look a whole lot like those later rounds of Ank vs Jan.
Hopefully Ank manages to be a bit more exciting against Rakic, in the UFC's eyes, and wins. Ank still has a good bit of value with the Middle Eastern crowd, so I don't think the UFC are gonna waste that potential if they think Ank possibly might not be a super boring champ.

I've heard the same thing about Smith. As much as I like dunking on him for being deluded, a few guys I know have met him and even grappled with him on occasion and they've said that he's one of the nicest fighters they've met.

I favour Alex and he should win.

But this is not a slam dunk - roundtree is dangerous and you throw in a explosive guy like roundtree, tape his hands and then put small gloves on him and anything can happen.

As long as izzy doesn't pick Alex I think Alex is safe from a "curse".
