basically ive been reading some previous threads on shedog about this and the same thing happened to me yesterday on the mat:

My rolling partner was going for a triangle and I managed to squeeze my lose arm in and started working my way back into his guard. He then had a very high guard on me and took my right arm and bent it over his leg to the outside of my body.

We both heard a distinct pop in my elbow. I have full mobility but when I put resistance against it, it feels like its going to give out (if my arm is at a 90 degree angle with my elbow against my hip, it is the left and right movement that causes discomfort, not the up and down). So the horizontal movement is the problem? I feel a tenderness at the base of my forearm, right next to the elbow.

Any advice as to what I did? I read it might be an UCL / MCL sprain?

Yeah bro. Sounds like you need a doc or a physio.

Sounds like you tore the medial collateral ligament in your elbow. I had something similar and had tommy john surgery (look it up), back 110% though ( I think the post operated elbow actually becomes stronger than a normal joint).

Dude it doesn't sound like your elbow is normal. They will probably have to X-ray it or even do an MRI. Sounds bad man.

wait can you explain what happened in your case?

the pain out of 10 is a 3 , very bearable......it's more annoying than anything....didn't think i would need surgery....

yes i will request an ultrasound , you guys are kind of scaring me.....

Lol. Don't ask for advice or even look for advice on the internet. Shit gets out of hand and people diagnose you with some crazy shit you never heard of and the next thing you know you can't sleep at night because you believe your going to end up dying. Then you go to your doc and he says lay off for 6 weeks and gives you an appointment to a physio for rehab and your back on the mats in no time.

It's probably just a strain or something like golfers elbow. Go to the doc though and make sure.

ahahah i feel you, but better to make sure all the potential **** problems are not there so that i won't end up posssibly ending up with a life long chronic problem. I guess you have all been to practionioners that prescribe every NSAIDS possible for man kind and say just rest......thanks doggers!

I once roomed with a premed student. That's either a brain tumor or a broken knee. I'm impressed that you managed to get either in your elbow.

Based on what you described I'm going to have to say that amputation is probably going to be required. Sucks bro. :icon_sad:
