Dern failed to make weight for her bout against Amanda Cooper at UFC 224 – just her second fight in the Octagon – by a whopping 7 lbs. She then proceeded to club-n-sub Cooper for the quick win in round 1. That, it seems was enough to ensure she got a number next to her name, at Hill’s expense.

A former Invicta champion, Hill’s UFC runs haven’t been as dominant as her work outside the promotion. But, sporting an 8-4 record (3-4 in the UFC), it’s hard to argue against the idea that, at the very least, her level of competition has been consistently higher. ‘Overkill’ was joined by fellow 115er Felice Herrig, herself ranked at #8, in her criticisms of these latest rankings and of Dern along with them.

They have a reason to be upset. Clear favouritism in place by these pathetic journal voters.

How does one climb ranking beating a .500 fighter and come overweight by a whole weight class?

Bitter bums
Dern is the people’s champion

She has every right to be annoyed. Dern got a very close split (I had a draw at best) vs a non top15/20? Yoder then misses weight against an even poorer fighter who has never strug two wins together and was brought in to lose.

Are these the official UFC rankings? If so...what a shit shower

Rankings don't matter

Who cares.... the spot may not be deserved but I don't think there's anyone that thinks Angela Hill would beat Dern. Dern hasn't accomplished much but I feel pretty comfortable that she's top 15 in the division. If she can make weight of course...

Let's get all the Twitter handles of the media guys and send them hate tweets!

Angela hill would light dern up on the feet and dern has pretty bad wrestling as we saw in the Yoder fight.

Funny that Felice left out a certain fight involving two of the fighters in her MMA math equation
