"I've seen it coming, I'll be honest with you," Robles said to Steve Kim of ESPN. "I've seen it coming during camp. I saw it coming, Andy was just doing whatever the hell he wanted to do. The dad, obviously with him being the manager, he just had no control over his son. None of us had control of him, for that matter.

"So I just saw it coming, it wasn't going to work because he wasn't listening. He's not listening to me, he's not listening to his dad, he's not listening to anybody. He said it himself after the press conference [in Saudi Arabia]. He apologized to me, to the dad, because he f---ed up. So I figured, 'OK, it's only a matter of time before I get the call.' Fortunately for me, Andy took the blame on himself and didn't sit there like a majority of fighters and blame the coach."

According to Robles, he was told by Ruiz's father that Al Haymon made the final decision for a trainer change. Ruiz is advised Haymon and fights under Haymon's Premier Boxing Champions banner.

Saw a few post from Ruiz in his IG getting back to the gym doing routine sessions, now i’ve lost hope again smh.

All fat fighters do not deserve our respect, go hard or go home

Is manny Robles the all you can eat buffet down the street? Cause that would help

Andy is his own man, his dad is his manager... but Al makes the call on who trains him?

I like how Al Haymon decided Andy Ruiz should switch trainers.
That’s pretty weak. You would think the fighter would choose for himself who he wants as a trainer.
And even if Andy did, it’s just a cowardly And girlish way to go about switching trainers under the guise of a promoter.

Ruiz showed up weighing 285 lbs. he has no one to blame but himself but it’s a good cop out for some of the public.

In that way I guess it makes a lot of sense. They get to put him in another big fight and when people say "that lazy ass?" the commentators will talk about how he has renewed focus under his new trainer, etc. etc.

Manny Robles: Andy, you need to start training hard and stop laying around and eating!

Andy Ruiz: You're fired

This is exactly what I thought, to me this wasn’t even possible, there’s no way I switch up on a trainer I trust and have a relationship with for anyone. This was probably all Andy’s doing. He knows this second time around after the last let down with all his apologizing and his promises Robles would expect focus from him and be on his ass. Just seems that’s what he really wants, to push that away and eat and do as he pleases in camp, shame...

I wonder if Ruiz will ever get a meaningful fight again. He probably has one more chance at the top level, then it will be back to the Indian reservation casinos.

I bet he does; Haymon is still getting Broner big fights even though he’s been a huge disappointment in all of them.

I still want to see Andy against that fat Polish guy. Can’t remember his name at the moment.

Adam Kownacki. It would definitely be interesting to see who is better.

Al Haymon making boxing decisions is like James Dolan deciding RJ Barrett's offseason regimen.

What a joke.

Why not? he's very marketable. And I still think he can beat Joshua.

He threw like 300 punches in 36 minutes and made Joshua look like a poor man's Lennox Lewis.

It seems like he got lucky by catching Joshua offguard in June. Straight up.

Snowball Kownacki is like my favorite fat guy, he goes hard! Still think he should have stopped Areola though.

I like him too.

He threw like 900 punches in that fight....you can't carry your real power for that long through such a high workrate over 12 rounds

I honestly think having that prolonged volume at hw is as valuable as having more power but less stamina......assuming you have a decent chin, because that style is going to definitely test your chin even if you're great at overwhelming people.

This reminds me of Yuriorkis Gamboa’s promoter taking it upon himself to fire the coach immediately after the Darling Jimenez fight
