andy lee vs peter quillin april 11th undercard on NBC

I like Andy Lee.

I'd like to see Andy Lee pull off another comeback stoppage, but that's probably not going to happen.

This fight is everything that's wrong with the sport.

A Champion vacates his title for unknown reasons, then immediately gets a title shot for the same title he vacated. Meanwhile a guy who has earned his way to the title gets pushed back.

BJS is getting screwed right now.

Why is Garcia fighting Peterson? And why isnt Quillin stepping up?

It's a good fight. Only if the Lamont and Danny fight was to unify titles then it would really be an event. Double title header on network tv?

Why? The alphabelts don't make the fight - the fighters do. That any regular follower of boxing takes the alphabelts that seriously is odd. "If only a self appointed governing body's trinkets were on the line - then this fight would be so much better. Without them the issue of who is better or whose style wins out cannot be answered."

The fact that Quillin/Lee can be billed as a "world title" fight shows how silly taking them seriously is. Especially when everyone on here knows that Cotto is the only real middleweight champion.

He was scared of Korobov. He even took less money in this fight then he would of made against Korobov

Yes, so why is he getting rewarded for ducking? If this was a perfect world he would have to earn his way back.

No, no it's not. It's a step in the right direction back towards what televised cards should be, but it's not PPV worthy.

any ratings predictions for this card ?

Cotto has the lineal but Gennady is also the MW champ.

No, no Golovkin isn't. You don't get more than one "the champ" per division.

i'd expect the " middleweight " champion to have fought at least once at 160.

Cotto is as much of a " real " champion as briggs was in the late 90's.

Which is still more than Golovkin is. Winning the lineal title > being promoted from "WBA Regular Champion".
