Elections Andrew Yang on Ben Shapiro “It’s not left or right. It’s forward.”

His proposal here is an absolute non-starter for me:

If he drops that crap, I'll pay him some attention
The way it's worded looks authoritarian but don't you think something needs to be done about fake news? Mostly concerning commercial media. I don't think he plans going after people tweeting stuff but people like Alex Jones are crossing a line when they repeatedly claim Sandy Hook is a hoax and the victims are actors, including people that are verifiable dead.

He’s got nothing to really stand on, Trump beats him easily

The whole field for 2020 is lackluster

Most people cannot afford a house, rent is what is used to determine cost of living for that reason.

"The national average rent reached an all-time high of $1,405"
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/u-s-urban-rents-hit-all-time-high-at-average-1405-report/
Yes but that's skewed by rents in areas like NYC, LA, San Francisco, etc.

The average rent in St. Louis is only $943/month. It's $826 in Tulsa, Ok. For many, many people, $1,000/month should probably cover their yearly rent cost and the same for homeowners.

I did say "average" right? I did provide a link to a place that tracks the average rents right? I did provide a link to a place that talks about all across the country right? Did I "hide" that? Nope. This is about a person running for President stating that the $12,000 is going to give people security right? Yes. That means everyone and not just those living in Tulsa or St. Louis.

Even if a 10% vat caused 10 % inflation, you would have to spend over $120,000 per year in order for it to be a wash.

Campaigning on So what if it causes 10% inflation is about the intelligence level I expect out of people looking for government to take care of their lives.

I don't like the socialism always = Venuzuela claims, but this here sounds like exactly that

Yang doesn't want to

I don't think there will be any significant inflation because of the vat tax. Will there be some? Possibly. You can make an argument that it will. There will be no additional printed money circulating in the economy. That is typically the reason for inflation. Some people might argue that a little inflation would be good for the economy.
Yang is not advocating free college, minimum wage increase, or the demonization of big business. He often says, it's not Amazon's fault that they don't pay much in Federal tax. It's ours.

I'm all for closing the mega business loopholes/deductions so that they actually pay the corporate rate on their profits

But advocating for increased 3 trillion dollars of federal funding is pants on head stupid and unachievable

Here's some propaganda debunking the inflation myth.

Wouldn't you like to see.people getting off welfare? Are you a believer in trickle down economics? What if we tried trickle up? Give people money and let them spend it in the economy.
Side note-Are you a hockey player? I played juinior a in Iowa, college in upstate New York, and a couple years semi pro in Germany. (Putting on the foil! :))

What if we tried trickle up? Give people money and let them spend it in the economy.

But the amount of governmental expenditures for this to happen is utterly massive, you're talking a need to all out double the Federal budget just to give out a thousand bucks a month. It's not at all feasible, and would collapse the economy in ways universal Healthcare or college (which I don't support due to governmental control) never could dream of

And yes, although you sound more skilled than me. The Germany semi pro sounds like a sweet experience. I played hockey all growing up in MN. Was captain of my highschool team senior year and we just barely missed making it to state. Played 2 years of club hockey in college and since then just some casual intramurals and now once a week adult leagues :)

Because getting people off government welfare by replacing it with government UBI is getting people off "welfare"...its welfare with a new name and 10x worse because now EVERYONE is on it that wants to be. No more needing to qualify for it and having to go into some kind of work program to find a job.

No thanks. Catchy slogans is all this guy has.
LOL what a hack response from one of the worst posters in the war room. Whether you agree with him or not, this man is all policy substance and data. To say all he has is catchy slogans shows how bad your political analysis is.

How would you know if you are a new account...oh wait. That means you are either a sock-puppet of a coward or sucked so much you got banned.

Which is it? Naw. Dont bother.

Exactly, it's about holding giant media corporations accountable for misinformation, not shiposters on Sherdog. It's the way it's organized in Sweden for example. Tempering the news climate should be an actual important issue for Americans, should it not? Inflammatory and skewed reporting to garner clicks in the name of profit sounds detrimental to the point it should exist mechanisms to counter-act it. I don't really see the issue. Unless you argue the goverment, and by extension its agencies, is by definition some type of draconian force and Turner Broadcasting System and Murdoch is preferable because they can be traded on the market.

considering I've already addressed this question like 4 times I'm going to let you flounder like a retard.

If everyone that doesnt care enough to remember anything about you is "a retard" then the world is made up of retards...<Dany07>

Which makes you a what?

<Ellaria01>
Ignoring what I've already said on the subject, you yourself can see I have 300 posts, most of those are here in the war room. Wouldn't I reasonably be able to determine your policy positions and who you are in that time frame? Or does that just speak to what an obvious moron you are, being this easy to identify?

You consistently take the worst positions on every single topic I see you speak on. You are a verifiable retard and your opinions on everything are terrible.

No one said you hid anything. It's simply a misleading piece of information when the full range of rents isn't explained. I provided the explanation for people who might not have found the time to dig into the link itself.
