Basically the Yang is telling Asians-Americans to be more American to combat racism. The comments by Asians in each thread are interesting to read. They're really upset with him and feel that it's victim blaming. Many of these people feel shunned by this country.

Those Asians must be racist if they don't like Andrew Yang.... Damn Asian Nazis

I don't really care what people are saying to him but I do think he's wrong.

What he's doing may be correct, but it's not really just. In a just world, you wouldn't have to act a certain way to avoid racist attacks, but in the actual world, trying to fit in would probably help avoid that.

I guess it's a question of value for the individual... Do you make sure your daughter doesn't get too drunk in potentially risky circumstances because she really shouldn't have to worry about such things, or do you tell her to only drink when she's around people she fully trusts because you know bad things might happen to her?

Huang and Fang do not support the Yang.

I have no idea what the overall opinion is about Yang among Asian-Americans, but Twitter isn't a good barometer of anything. Remember that the scumbags tweeting about that shit in the OP need the outrage to maintain their brand. You'll notice that they lose all relevance when they have nobody to direct all their follower's hate towards.

Ain't nothing more American than turning a profit by being a social media influencer

Not enough bat in his diet I guess.

Man, I always stick up for Asians here but fuck this shit pisses me off. You go to China and other Asian nations are there are places that literally say no foreigners allowed. Could you imagine the backlash if we had places say NO CHINESE WELCOME.

The victim mentality is so damn annoying in every group in America, especially consider their ancestor's nations are WAY more racist.

Asian Americans are already American. What does telling them to "be more American" mean? I think this was a badly worded message from Yang.

Asian Americans are not foreigners...

Honestly, in Wang's defense, it sort of seems like most of those people making those comments already view themselves as separate. Yang is right, as much as it surprises me to say it.
They're following the narrative by saying calling something from China "Chinese" is racist. Whats wrong with "embracing americanism?" You're a fucking American, right? What Yang is saying in that post, to my ears, is that we should all try to come together. Those responders are saying "fuck that" because of imagined racism.

It means to stop viewing yourself as something other than american and thinking the guy walking down the street is your enemy because his skin is a different color than yours.

Why does he and you assume his audience doesn't already see themselves as American? Asian Americans are by their very definition American. These are the descendants of the people who built the railroads.
