One of the first guys I liked watching in mma (because he was able to keep fights standing and trade punches).
He fought in a time when it was common for every fight to go to the ground.

His biggest fight was against Mark Coleman'esq fighter Ron Waterman.
And knocked his grappling ass out.

He did have wrestling skill, but was more like a Tank Abbot style fighter: punch first, dry hump only if necessary

It's the first in this tribute video I posted down below.

No disrespect intend! But there's something about large men using basic boxing and wrestling I just love!

He has the tiniest nose that I ever saw get broken in a fight.

He was honestly more of a 'rassler, bad GnP type of fighter. He had power and would stand and bang with guys like Waterman who didn't really hit that hard and wanted to grapple, but if you watch his other fights they almost always involve him slamming his opponent in a nasty way and kinda smothering them with rabbit punches till they gave in or he'd hit a keylock or neck crank. He was suprisingly fit and athletic for someone so obese, too. That fight with Goodridge was just sad, though. Can't seem to find any Andre Roberts UFC gifs, so here's another Andre Roberts doing his thang.

Had no idea you still posted here MC. Though I haven't been through the boxing forum in a while.

Good to see some OG's still hangin around.
