It's 02:11am over here, and I have to leave to move to university early in the morning... but I'm still going to watch this first.

finally watched it, nice little breakdown.

nothing fancy or new, but very clean technique. i like videos like this one, i wish more high level bjj players did breakdowns of their high profile matches. we all watch those fights over and over again like crazy, trying to figure out how they do their stuff, it's awesome when they do it for us.

i think the most important lesson i learned from his match with palhares is to play butterfly against any leglock oriented grappler. it's very difficult to set up any leglocks if your feet are tucked under him. galvao never left his feet dangling around when he was on the bottom, as soon as palhares was close he hid them in butterfly and worked sweeps from there.

I totally agree. I wish more competitors break down their matchups. It's awesome to get into their minds during the competition.

They don't support Flash anymore, a problem that annoys me every day.

One of the major reasons I advocate playing butterfly!!! Too many guys nowadays have monstrous leglocks. At the top levels, almost all the competitors have nasty leglock attacks. Butterfly keeps you safe.

i came by the butterfly discovery as well when rolling with one of my sambo instructors. I was too afraid to play guard any way other than butterfly for fear of getting leg locked.
