Not sure if he just moved his facility, or saw the writing on the wall that he won't be fighting for quite some time... but looks like his private training gym and Muay Thai College has closed shop. I live just down the street from his gym in So Cal and the space is up for lease. It's been shut down for about a month or so. I know he has his share of haters for getting popped by USADA twice among other things, but I for one really enjoyed watching him fight... Few fighters have, and do get me excited to watch them fight as Anderson did. If I could narrow down the reason, it's probably because to me, he had a very unique and creative presence in the Octagon (and ring)... Just never knew what he was going to do in there, and that made it exciting. If The Spider has truly closed up shop and is accepting he won't be fighting for quite some time...or ever...well, all I can say is thank you Mr. Anderson for well over a decade of amazingly entertaining fights...

Ain't no sunshine when it's on
Only darkness every day
Ain't no sunshine when it's on
Cuz when its on, ya :eek::eek::eek::eek:z gonna be gone
Every time cuz we don't play

liked your post. not that the Spider has left the building

Damn.

Love him or hate him...that is kinda hard to believe/accept the fact we may never see The Spider fight again.

I can’t be the only one that thinks he could still recapture the MW title

I still loved to watch him do matrix shit in the cage.

Sad.. Once you're out of the spotlight, rent suddenly becomes much more harder to come by.

I wonder how Ronda is doing money wise, certainly still has lots but it aint coming in like before.. only a matter of time before shes begging for a fight.

Yeah... I drive by his gym on the way out from my neighborhood daily, and was sad to no longer see his banner and picture on the front of the building... empty building now...

It could happen. An old man Silva is still a mean KO artist, albeit much slower than before / less energy etc. But he still has it in him to KO people. Look at what he did to Bisping in a fight he LOST.

You're not alone.. I'll never doubt the Spider. Even though logically I know father time gets everyone, the fan in me is always rooting for one more time.

Yeah, I mean it was glorious when The Chris utterly destroyed Anderson twice. But I is a sad that The Chris ruined Anderson. It is like The Chris pissed on the Mona Lisa or something.

Why The Chris, why did you have to destroy something so beautiful???
Why The Chris, couldn't you have showed mercy? It was great you punched his clock in when he was goofing around and shit. But why did you have to break his brittle leg? Why??? He needed that!

Thats a shame, but kind of comprehensible. I think he made the gym for his title defenses in the US?

that's sad news but i still think he will be back.

Huge Anderson Silva fan still thought he could possibly somehow recapture the MW belt when Bisping had it by some short notice jump in or something. His "win" vs Brunson was the fight that made me realize it's over. Even the Cormier fight I could say it was short notice and he hurt Cormier late. Looking back on his fight with Diaz it was probably over then but Anderson was my favorite fighter so I kept hope alive for as long as I could.

Forgot to mention, when Anderson first came over from Pride (think it was after the Leben fight), saw him at a surf/skate shop in So Cal called ET Surf. I guess Ed Soares worked there when Ed was in high school. Silva was in there with Big Nog, Soares, and a couple other guys... Never like to bother people when they're on their personal time, but because I enjoy watching him fight so much...just told Soares in passing that Silva is awesome to watch. Ed introduced Anderson and Nog to the group I was with....it was brief, and I know you can't tell much at all from a 45 second encounter... But I can say in that short time, Silva and Nog were all smiles and very personable. Pretty much how they are in public interviews. Didn't want to intrude on their shopping, or whatever reason they were in there...but it did leave a positive impression however superficial the encounter was.
