As many of you may know Anderson Silva was the number 2 welterweight on the planet for a meaningful period of time. The UFC even announce to he was supposed to fight Matt Hughes twice but it never happened.

I was going through some old rankings and I noticed Pat miletich was still at number 4. At the time Anderson and Matt
The fight between them a possibility of happening.

What do you think would have happened if Anderson was able to catch Matt then had to fight Pat miletich? I think it would have been a very interesting fight.

No. Pat was just a UFC champion. That's why he lost fights outisde of UFC. He was top 5 WW, but not on Anderson's level, or Sakurai's level.

Both would've mauled him.

AS was a MW dude

Incorrect. He was a WW back then.
Know your history.

Something like this is what would´ve happened

2001-2002?

Miletich was nearing the end of the road about that time. He's a good ten years older than Silva, and was on the decline physically.

All signs point to a younger, faster, and more fiery Silva turning his lights out, but Miletich could have taken advantage of Silva's inexperience. If Takase and Chonan tapped Silva a couple years after this proposed fight, I have a hard time counting Miletich out of this. He would have been a very live dog.

Idk I would've taken Miletich and Hughes both against Andy back then. No way Andy was stopping Hughes wrestling and Miletich was one of the best of that era for a reason. Andy too inexperienced then imo

Seems like a bad matchup for Pat. Granted, I don't know exactly what Anderson was up to then, nor where Pat was physically... but I imagine Anderson would've been trouble for him.

Anderson beat Sakurai. Idk about Hughes but Silva would beat Miletich.

solid post and how I feel. Sakurai was so amazing.

Miletich would have given him a fight, but Hughes would have pulled the head off him

Same thing that happened to Sakurai, Miletich was winding down

I think Silva beats them both. It was early in Silva's career but he was seriously a different level of striking in MMA.

Note that Silva beat Newton the same way that Pele beat Hughes.

Ehh it probably would've looked worse than when Pepe destroyed Militech.
