Sorry if this is days old but just read Anderson has singed a new 10 fight contract, will we see the spider in the octagon at 40 years old as champ?

Indeed, but I think he's done after 3-4 fights.

Lets hope.

I doubt there are 10 MW challengers out there right now for him to fight so I bet a couple of those 10 could be at different weight classes.

i can't see it, but it would be great if he does.. hopefully some top fights @ 205

Surprised he actually signed a 10-fight deal ... I can't see him consistently fighting 3 times a year for the next 3 years at his age.

Regardless, war Spider - the greatest ever.

why dont people check the spelling on their thread titles >.<

but yes, I hope that he fulfills this contract, i enjoy his presence in the ufc.

Anderson at 42 is still be the best MW in the world.

Mike Tyson should get a ten bight contact. Guard your ears homie.

The purpose of offering Silva a 10 fight contract is to make sure he's locked up with the UFC when he retires and can't fight for any other promotion without the UFC's OK. It's business tactic and a smart one of the UFC's part. He's not fighting 10 more times.

I personally think once Silva decides to retire he should be able to do whatever he wants. I think that's obviously in his best interest, but the UFC will NOT let that happen.

I think it would be a mistake for Anderson to stay around that long. 3 more fights and he should retire while at the top. Some aggressive wrestler will give him trouble sooner or later and his legacy will be tarnished, no matter how great he was.

Anderson must be planning on taking some risky fights--if he was confident that he'd keep winning he wouldn't want such a long contract.

Silva must have realised long ago he'll never get that Roy Jones Jr. fight.
