Love him or hate him, he improved this card enormously.. This card went from huge devastating loss to not nearly as good, but still great. Anderson has now saved 2 of Jon Jones failed cards.

That said, I don't think this is much of a struggle for Cormier. He's significantly bigger, has been training like a mad man to beat Jon, has probably the best wrestling and top 5 brute strength in all of the UFC, and last but not least, he's not 41 years old.

I love the Spider. Very happy he made things interesting. But my hopes are very, very low.

GOAT move? By fighting a guy on short notice where the UFC likely dumped a boat load of cash that he couldn't resist so he took the opportunity?

He isn't fighting at 205 so he knows that no one would criticize him for losing to Cormier on such short notice. It is likely a gigantic pay day for him, so why wouldn't he take it? He isn't in the title picture at 185. He has nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Whatever GOAT legacy he had went out the window years ago when Weidman blasted him, and his PED scandal.

Calling this a GOAT move is such a reach. Clearly you are trolling or you have a very hard time understanding the politics involved with this sport.

Not nearly as good??

To me it's better.

Already seen Jones/Cormier, and while a past it Anderson seems ripe to get wrestlefucked and lose this, the bizarre nature of his style and the ability to stun people out of nowhere, make this a more intriguing fight for me in a way.

Anderson pulling off a win, then walking away from the sport on a win over the current LHW champ, would be epic.

Anderson Silva has a chance... Weird to hear someone say that lol

What would happen if this fight was like Connor/Aldo in favor of Silva? Forum explosion?

Your logic is retarded, everyone who's fought long enough got blasted eventually. He holds pretty much every record in mma and his legacy is in tact no matter what he does in his 40's.

What if..

NO, he doesn't. He has zero chance. He has a slight chance of making it out of the first round. That's it. Anderson would lose to just about every top 5 middleweight in the ufc. probably higher. Now he's going to against the 2nd best light heavyweight on earth. It's a slaughter...

Ya but it's a fight.. He's Anderson silva lol he has somewhat of a chance. Not saying it's the greatest but there's always a chance.

Everyone saying Silva doesn't have a chance has clearly not been watching this crazy sport long enough

Anderson gonna shock the world, DC fights reckless and the spider just needs one opening.

Nothing to lose? This could be very embarrassing for him.

He just lost a close decision to Bisping who happens to be the current MW champ, he's still in title contention at MW.

This was a stupid move, Anderson doesn't stand a chance. It did make me re-think about actually PPVing this one however.

True, true and true

But you gotta imagine the magnitude of a Silva win here, especially if its a memorable one. Considering Andersons status right now as one of the greatest ever, this would only raise it to epic proportions.
