Anderson and GSP opponent stat

I am a stat's guy. Thought I would be a Actuarial or Statistician when in university and taking math.

This is a stat that another poster started some time ago (Loiosh) and that I like to keep an eye on since it involves one of my favorite fighters.

I totally get this will get some peoples panties in a bunch but I find the stat interesting none-the-less and so I am posting it. I like to think I would post it even if it favoured Anderson's opponents.

GSP hasn't fought anyone Anderson has fought, but almost every single fighter GSP has fought who has fought an Anderson opponent has won.

Shields beat Maia, Hendo and Okami.
Hughes beat Sakarai and Newton.
Koscheck beat Leben.
Fitch beat Roan Carneiro.
Karo Parysian beat Ryo Chonan


On the flip,

Mach Sakurai beat Trigg.
Maia beat Fitch

Well, everyone knows WW is a tougher division. It just shows that GSP fought better opposition, not necessarily that he is better than Silva. Even though it could be used to make the case.

Maia was supposedly good enough to fight the MW champ, but doesn't seem good enough to get to the WW champ... WW is a better division like we all know.

It's shame I would have liked to see someone fight both Silva and GSP.

Newton vs Trigg?? when did that happen? Can't find anything on that fight anywhere.

Statistically GSP beats everyone. It's only further impressive when you consider the weight class he's done it in

pointless thread. Dana White was extremely willing to make Silva vs GSP @ a catch weight and Anderson wanted the fight so bad he did a press conference for it. Both fighters could've made ton of fuckin for this fight, but GSP whether you disagree or not simply ducked Anderson.

Fine Pettis than, it's stupid to expect someone to move up weight to fight.

Penn and Serra were both former LW's but they made the decision to move up and fight Georges, GSP never pressured the fight and never called out the little guy.. unlike Silva who constantly wanted to fight the WW 30-40 pounds lighter than him!
