So I want to make a thread about somewhat promising looking fighters who took a bad loss or even a win and never returned to combat. When thinking about this the first person that pops into my mind is John Hathaway. 17-2 mma record, 9-2 ufc record. after he got Spinning back elbowed by DHK, He never returned to combat. Only 26 years old.

Another one in the making could be Gregor Gillespie. He had an undefeated record of 13-0 before getting KO'd by Kevin Lee.

gregor is now 33, and has not returned to combat in over 14 months.

Gregor is scheduled yo fight again i believe

David Tarrel. He was something like 7-0 when he fought Evan Tanner for the MW belt. He almost submitted Tanner early but Tanner escaped and proceeded to administer an ass beating, getting a TKO. David never fought again in the UFC, and I don’t believe he ever fought in mma again after that. He was a legit talent too. Probably fits the thread better than any other fighter

He was plagued by injuries...

He actually won his comeback fight in the UFC against Scott Smith after coming back from an injury, but he just kept getting injured and having to pull out of fights after that...

He beat Gerald Harris, Matt Brown and CB Dollaway, so he had some talent. Sure he got KOd by Hendricks but that is when he was big rig. I felt like he would have been top 10-15 for a while.
