I think this is a no brainer. Every major sport has players “mic’ed up” during games to give fans an inside look. So how about microphones (or better ones) in the octagon to better capture the sounds of the fight plus interaction between the fighters?
Even more importantly, actually hearing the impact of strikes would give people a whole new appreciation of the sport. Back in the Pride era for example, crowds were quieter during fights and it really made a difference. I’ll never forget how Crocop’s kicks sounded. Even today in ONE Championship I like how you can hear the action over the crowd.
