Amsterdam Vs Las Vegas Vs Miami - experience reports?

In Miami the night life is insane, from clubs, strip club clubs, rooftop bars, restaurants etc there's a lot to choose from, and it can go from kinda pricey to luxurious.

The beaches are awesome, crystal clear water, warm, and beautiful girls at every beach.

Black house MMA is a 5 minute drive, is actually in the same street I live, also American top team isn't too far from me, though I'm a member of UFC gym.

This sounds perfect for me.

Any experience with vegas to contrast?
Or to san diego?

Yup Miami would be my choice over Vegas. More diversity. More like a real city within a real State. Vegas is great for a weekend but unless you are a professional poker player or some other full time gambler I think it could get old quick.

As others have said off the strip it is just spread out suburbs with nothing going on. I guess if you like always being in large monolithic preconditioned structures (casinos) all the time, it would be heaven but that is not my thing at all. I need to get out and about and move around a city.

So while you can have a blast of a great time in either for a weekend only Miami is livable for me of those two choices.

I hate gambling - never saw the allure, it's so damn slow.

I thought, bars, clubs, UFC gym, training, Couture's gym etc - malls, tourist gals having flings, there'd be plenty to keep me busy.
No beach of course, which would suck.

Any contrast with San Diego or Orange country or some california location also?

Again, busy nightlife, hot girls, high energy, good active mma scene etc?
I'd read a lot of fighters based there go to vegas for better training however.

I've been to Vegas a bunch of times, and it gets old real quick. Every hotel reeks of cigarettes, it's all about clubbing, drinking and eating.. All of that gets old to me fast, the woman are hot but the majority aren't local, just woman visiting. I wouldn't want to live there at all.

San Diego is awesome, beautiful city, woman a lot to do, though I've only visited I think it would be a great place to live. I lived in Orange County and had many awesome years living there, tons of gyms as well, and beautiful woman (mainly the white ones) I also like how easily it is to get weed.

The one down side to the woman in Miami is that the vast majority are very superficial, they mainly care about your pockets, luckily I've been able to weed those woman out.

I was considering moving to either las vegas or Miami, purely on reputation.

Having read the thread here on Las Vegas that is active, I may have to reconsider my choice however.

See, I was basing these options on past experiences.
Any city I've been to that's heavy on fight sports/culture, prostitution and nightlife - has fitted me like hand to glove.

Such places have been, Pattaya Thailand, and Amsterdam Netherlands.
Places I disliked were corporate go-getter institutions like London, and New York.
New York sounded more fun back in the day when it was New Amsterdam and hookers and skank cinemas lined the streets (but theft and strong arm crime were prevalent also then so, that would suck).

I despise billy-bad-ass culture dumps like some cities like Rio and Mexico have a reputation for ("you got to be tough to walk the streets here homie").
Amsterdam and Pattaya, any time day or night you would wander and be totally safe.

Some people complain the red light in amsterdam is trashy - there are some fuck faces trying to be tough but, honestly I laugh in their faces - there was never a sense of being in danger there for me at least, and the police presence is ridiculous.

Hot nightlife, provocative women, nice weather, a good culture of fight sports with good gyms etc - my kinds of places.

So I figured Las Vegas and Miami should be top of my list to visit next, right?

Well - the Las Vegas thread is heart sinking. Descriptions don't at all convey the "Casino starring Rob DeNiro" sense of glamour I had anticipated.
Sounds more like a ghetto suburban nightmare with one decent area called "The Strip" which ultimately blows and social life equally blows.

And the weather - listen I love the sun and to stroll about bare cheat and flash guns, pick up chicks etc (Amsterdam in summer is paradise for this), but descriptions about Vegas were like, "hell on earth, don't go outside, AC'ed malls only during high season".

Is Miami any better in this regard?

Basically - anyone been to Amsterdam (my favourite city on the earth I've been to so far)?
And how would you compare it to Vegas and Miami - if you've been there also?

PS - ask whatever about Amsterdam if you have questions. I lived there for 6 years.

Yes this is all correct about Vegas

All i am saying it is a relatively small microcosm all under a few casino roofs. If you can handle avoiding the outdoors for most of the year and running from heavily air conditioned to heavily air conditioned casino and make your life within them, you will find those other things you want. For me its just far too limiting for any thing much more than a 3 day weekend.

So, the place really IS all about casinos and gambling, is what you're saying?
Restaurants, entertainment, and basically not going outside?

Impression I'm getting is, quality of life and living could be MUCH better in places like Miami and Orange County.

Yes the casino is your epicenter for life in Vegas.

And if you love the big massive, cavernous casinos and can spend all day, every day in them great.

But the casinos are not just gambling. They have wonderful restaurants, great night clubs and bars, great comedy and music and theatre and magic, etc all within them. But you are still within the Casino (or better yet Casino complex) when you visit those other aspects. But yes. the benefit to Vegas is there is a constant, ever flowing refresh of hot girls who go to Vegas, many of which looking to have their 'what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, debauchery moment.

I, personally, just find it limiting after a few days. But i am an outdoors guys mostly. I love walking outside and from bar to bar and location to location. When I am in Vegas you are winding thru one casino to the other most of the time.

When i am in Miami I can hit the amazing club scene any night I want. I can hit the sidewalk cafe's and boulevard's which will be full of beautiful women sitting around sipping fancy espresso drinks. I can go to the water front and walk around or rent a boat. It is a real and diverse city.

And while having money helps in both cities, wealth and the perception of having your shit together is far more important to picking up (outside picking up party girls in clubs) in Miami. Vegas, the girls are not looking at you as any type of long term anything. It is all about that night and move on. Miami has a constant refresh of beautiful girls coming in from all over but many are looking to find men to spend money on them, even if just taking them to expensive restaurants and bars again, unless you just focus on late night pickup at the night clubs for one night stands.

Great info.

San Diego/OC feature anywhere on this type of lifestyle radar?
