This is perhaps the most damning polling I've seen yet for Republicans in 2020... and it isn't directly about Trump (but I think he has a lot to do with it).
Instead it's about governors.
These are the ratings for Governors' responses to Covid 19...
Reynolds- IA- 26%
DeSantis- FL- 29%
Ducey- AZ- 30%
Ige- HI- 31%
Little- ID- 34%
Reeves- MS- 34%
Stitt- OK- 35%
Abbott- TX- 35%
Kemp- GA- 36%
Well, well, well. Notice a trend? Almost all Trumpy GOP Governors... who followed Don the Con's lead in pushing for an early economic reopening and minimizing the danger of Covid.
Now, who are the most popular Governors on Covid response?
Scott- VT- 76%
Hogan- MD- 71%
Baker- MA- 68%
Lamont- CT- 65%
Whitmer- MI- 64%
Sununu- NH- 63%
Notice something here: these are a mix of Democrats and Blue State Republicans who bucked Donald's desires, imposed strict lock down measures, never downplayed Covid, and did not reopen early.
This to me, more than anything else, shows that the nation is rejecting the rhetoric, tone, and style of Trump on the most important issue of the year and the election. It explains why the wind is blowing the wrong way for the GOP and why Biden leads in several states that Trump won in 2016 (AZ, FL) and why some others are way more competitive than they should be (GA, IA, TX).
