Nazis were right-wing conservatives. They abhorred all forms of liberalism. An anti-marxist, anti-liberal, anti-union, pro-business authoritarian party that looked to the middle class and rural people to form their base. The sanctity of private property and freedom of contract was always preserved under the Nazis, even during the war years. Socialism (Bolshevism) was seen as Jewish plot to screw with prosperity of the German people. Socialists were among the earliest victims of the Nazis when they were purged from the party in the early 30s. Socialist leaders were killed or imprisoned and all the socialist parties were liquidated.
If you genuinely believe Nazis were left wing, then you don't understand the basic fundamental differences between Liberalism and Conservatism.
This where the main problem lies
A lot of ppl see left vs right as liberalism vs conservatism
while this might be partially true, it’s not always the case n doesn’t represent the true split in left vs right
true meaning of left vs right is:
change vs status quo
revolution vs old guard.
those who want to reshape society vs those who want to keep it the way it is.
Both Nazis n fascists started as socialists, union n workers parties going against the old guard.
like I said they weren’t Marxist/communist n wanted to preserve national unity instead of having a class struggle.
when they took power they also took control of all aspects including total control of the economy n nationalizing many sectors.
They basically did what Bolsheviks did in Russia.
left vs right split could also be seen as
individualism vs statism
Individual rights n freedoms vs total government control
looking at Nazis, fascists n socialists in general they’re not too keen on individualism n individual rights n freedoms. They rather have big government in control of everything
