Sam's Club - Powerline PPR200X Power Rack

Under 200 for this plus you can pick it up in store. Anyone know what quality this? It seems really good.

only if you pay for shipping, russia is pretty damn far

go to the store and check it out. can't really tell how sturdy something is by a picture

you should definitely make sure the pins and hooks are rated for a good amount of weight

I dunno, man.

It's easy to manufacture solid-looking products with cheap materials, and sell them at low prices to people who don't know or don't care what they're truly getting.

I've bought tools at Wal-Mart and have almost always ended up disappointed with the quality of the materials. Meaning that the steel rusted, rubber cracked, parts broke, etc. long before they should have. (The one exception that comes to mind was an expensive, top-of-the-line pair of lop shears for yard work, which were made in the USA and continue to kick ass after years of use and abuse).

That rack is made in China, and lists for less than $200. If you don't expect to ever put more than a couple of hundred pounds on the bar, it might be okay. But otherwise I think you'd be better off searching the local want ads and Craig's List for a used better-quality rack.

The guy in the picture squats 225 at most, so I'd say the rack can handle 225.

That looks EXACTLY like the Body Solid rack I have, except for the color. The structure is identical, so it must be made by Body Solid for Sam's Club. Its a very good rack for the price. I've had mine for about 8 years and its held up well. I've had up to 400lbs on it.

Its possible that although the design is the same, they may use a cheaper steel or something. But if in fact it is the same rack I have, just rebadged, then you will be fine. The pins are solid. They don't even flex with 400 on them, though my bar does.

I should send this link to my gym's owner and tell him to invest in some

Damn. Im gonna have to get a membership and buy that.

So the general consensus for those that researched it/used it is that it seems solid?

I'm pretty much gonna go right now and order it. There are some oly weights on craigslist right now a a bar plus 255 pounds for 150, how does that deal sound? I as gonna call and ask more specific info on it and I want to get the Jesup bar too if I can.

I just bought a power rack with lat pulldown and rowing cables, pullup bar, dip bar, bench, olympic bar, and 300+lbs of weight on ebay. The bidding started at $100 and I won it at a price of $460. I borrowed a suburban, filled it with gas ($100) and spent 4 hours picking it up and disassemling/reassembling. It took 9 months of searching craigslist and ebay to find the perfect piece.

If you calculate the time and money it cost me around $700 dollars for the perfect home gym. If you are patient you can find what you want for the price you are willing to pay. Hope this helps.

Thats a ripoff unless its a good bar. You can buy a basic bar new with 300lbs of weight for a little less than that.

I'm thinking I'll get this power rack w/ pullup bar for 188, find a decent 300lb oly weight set for 150ish, and an adjustable bench for <100.

I am looking for rubber flooring as well if anyone has any suggestions.

Man I don't need to waste any more money but I was going to buy that exact rack anyways. I'm going Tuesday.
