Well she is not really a power puncher but that doesn't matter when she lands her shin on your forehead. Eye never had anything for her, guess she wasn't so bulletproof after all.

I'm a bit of a WMMA skeptic since most of the divisions are really shallow but Valentina is quite the exception to the WMMA rule, a true gem of a fighter and a joy to watch much of the time. Anyone who uses that southpaw double attack of body kick to head kick is someone I can be a fan of and she used it so beautifully in that fight. This Eye KO is one of my favorites from the last few years, the sound of it landing and the way Eye goes down slowly like a tree and the way Valentina skips off is just so clean, so satisfying to watch.

Almost everyone has power in their strikes, but only a few people have legit precision!

Head kick KO was brutal though. Not a lot of force required to knock your socks off with that.

Jessica Eye is normally pretty durable though since she has no other KO losses except one sub loss early in her career.

I'm pretty sure whatever prominence Jessica Eye has had in the ufc is mostly attributable to her memorable name.

    LOL, that didnt aged well.

PS: Could this be part of someone looking for the trilogy fight? Valentina seems interested in it...

Then why didn't Amanda come after her in the second fight. She was scared to engage and barely did anything the whole fight. The 5th round takedown did nothing, she was stalling on top. It was Valentina that was hitting her when they were on the ground. Bad judging, Valentina won the second fight.

Ur breakdown is spot on and ur right, she is a gem. I put her up there with anyone, man or woman, technique wise. She is insane to watch, u can see her playing chess with these girls, every punch or kick is so reactant to what her opponent gives he. The only way i see her losing is if she coasts and waits too long for counters and gets beat by decision......or Nunes beats heragain. Although I gave her the second fight, and i rewatched and still same result

I agree with both of you, I think she is the most technically skilled out of all the WMMA fighters.

nothing would make me happier than a trilogy fight with Nunes where Valentina knocked the fuck out.

Valentina and Thug Rose have the best striking from a technical standpoint in the women's division.

I'll never get tired of watching Valentina Shevchenko flat-line Jessica Eye.

The video-tape would wear out before I got tired of that. (remember video-tape people?!)

100% correct. She was so tentative the second fight. She had her head snapped back more than a few times. Horrible judging, I won't go as far as to say it was the worst decision ever, but worst of the year IMO
