Are we still making those laughable arguments about Amanda not being the WMMA GOAT? I couldn't believe there was actually an article on the Sherdog main page making the case that Cyborg was still the GOAT, not Amanda, ROFL. The two are very close in terms of number of fights, and Amanda is WAY more impressive in who she has beat and how she has beat them.

Amanda is the UFC's most dominant champ right now, not even close.

Amanda is the UFC's most dominant FEMALE champ. She would get wrecked even by manlets.

Let's not validate manhood by comparing to women. That's sad.

That has nothing to do with what I was talking about. Being a dominant LW champ doesn't mean you can beat HW's.

That has absolutely no bearing on how dominant Nunes is against her competitors. That's what we're talking about here. Not her against men, something that is never going to happen. I mean, I don't understand this logic. The men are not her competitors.
 
she beat tate ronda holly and cyborg..... hasnt lost in five years and is only in early 30s.... her gf is pretty good as well

in my opinion, there are only a few well-rounded fighters in the entirety of WMMA - Nunes, Schev and Cyborg.

Yes, she has wins over both (she lost one vs Schev, i think) but its just way too early in this weak sport.

This is like claiming Don Frye is the greatest after he beat Tank.
 
If Nunes were to retire right now she'd go down as the greatest WMMA fighter so far. I'd still like to see how she deals with Cyborg again; their first fight would have been a lot different if Cyborg had kept a more level head instead of getting pissed off that she got tagged.

the sport in general is new... people claim fedor as the goat while he beat up cans in the early years of MMA, lost to a middleweight, lost three in a row in his early to mid 30's... people will always claim a "goat".... GSP is goat now but in 30 years maybe not...the sports new and saying Greatest up until now GUUN doesnt sound as good

Its like Old Tom Morris winning the Open so many times. Some people take that shit seriously.

Wait until there is an actual talent pool.
 
Amanda is criminally underrated, as both a fighter and media personality.

For a woman who has LITERALLY defeated every top contender of her era (in devastating fashion), her reception by the MMA community has been luke warm. It is doubtful that she could carry a PPV on her star power alone, and the UFC seemingly has no interest in cultivating her as a premier attraction.

They say that Ronda became such a phenomenon because of how easily she defeated her competition - Nunes has done the same, against better opposition, yet nobody seems to care.

Is it because she is gay? Not conventionally attractive? Non native english speaker? Who knows.

She deserves so much more, but there is no obvious reason as to why some people become superstars, and others don't. She kind of reminds me of DC earlier in his career - an obvious monster, but not appreciated by the fans. I hope Amanda manages to cross over the same way Cormier has in recent years.

I think she is bad for business. She is too dominant in a thin division, has zero charisma, and has low visual appeal. It's DJ-esque. Both are undeniably great but it may not matter.
