Am i the only whos not totally shocked or impressed by what just took place...

I mean im surprised Strickland won and got it completely wrong before the fight ...

But the way the fight was and how he won outside of the 1-2 in the first... It was a big bag of nothing..

He claimed he was gunna bring a new class of champion...

Is this what we want for the champion class..a guy who can calmly stand there in the pocket and throw a jab and then a teep ...then a 1-2 every 4 mins...

I dunno .. maybe ill need to rewatch it but i feel like it was one of the most anti climatic title change overs ever...


Congratulations to Sean ... Just a weird ass fight IMO ..

you’re telling me you’re upset because Strickland used a gameplan of pressure and feints to make adesanya make mistakes? Welcome to mma, kid.

I didn’t want adesanya as champion. I think he’s boring and fights to not lose, rather than fighting to win. If he had it his way he would walk the outside of the octagon and point fight all night like he has done in the past. Plus he’s cringey as hell in interviews and with that du Plessis shit. No thanks

He almost TKOed him not KO and he Izzy survived and won the next round...

Izzy just couldn't make the adjustment against what is a very strange and offbeat style ..

I think its more that izzy couldn't figure out then Strickland actually doing anything to win lol ... Izzy beat himself

Never said he had to throw wrecklessly and he gameplanned well ...

Im just not sure this is any better "class" of champion then what we had before...

And interviews mean shit all to me ....cringe is dumb and shouldn't be a word in combat sports lol ..

Bro I know four casual mma fans and you are literally 3 of them.

I can use the word cringey if I want to use it to describe Adesanya’s personality and actions. I don’t like him. I don’t like what he says or does.

Izzy did not “lose the fight more than Strickland won it.” Keep living in fantasy land if you want, but Sean took that championship from him and made it look easy.

Outside of the haters enjoying Izzy losing what did Strickland do that was particularly good or high level...

Strickland is one claiming to be this new class of champion...yet i saw nothing particularly new or impressive to dawn in this new class of champion era lol...i just saw someone who's willing stand in the pocket and land a shot here and there while hos opponent spends time figuring out how to hit him ..

Strickland's pressure, his boxing, controlling range with those teep kicks, his defense.

All those things were impressive my friend.

Lol im a casual because Strickland won a title by being awkward and not possessing anything that actually makes him a "new class " of champion..

His words not mine...

If u hate izzy then that fight i guess was enjoyable but as a fan of MMA ...that fight was awkward and not very entertaining or high level lol...not what i would expect from a champion..

Are you excited to see him fight others? Im not lol .

His pressure and his ability to stay calm in the pocket is impressive and his only truely good asset as a fighter and think thats what won it for him because izzy couldn't get his shit going against someone who basically doesnt bite on feints ..

It just felt anti climatic...like the only way Strickland was gunna win was like this and he somehow did it...more props to him but im not impressed lol ..

Izzy beat himself more then anything else.. id be curious to see what izzy says about the fight

Exactly, he neutralized Izzys game completely. Checked leg kicks, constant pressure, great distance management, great defense, reflexes, faints, straight punches at the right time, front kicks and jabs to limit Izzys movements against the cage.

He simply outclassed him in a way Izzy had no answers to.

If you are not impressed by a guy who shut down the complete game of one of the best middleweight fighters ever in a stand up battle were said ex-champ is considered to be one of the best of all times too you must live a quite unimpressed life overall.

I wanne see you try Izzy, lol.
