Am i the only one who is confused about Rothwell/JDS/Arlovski/Overeem

So Rothwell who beat Barnett and is on a 4 fight win streak is fighting JDS, who lost to Overeem, who is now fighting Arlovski, who just lost to Miocic in 54 seconds.

How in the hell does that make sense, shouldn't It be Rothwell/Overeem 2 for the next shot and JDS/Arlovski. I mean that makes sense to me.

Anyone else confused AF or is it just me?
 
The UFC is big on dumbass matchups that don't make sense
 
Arlovski was going to fight for the title so instead of knocking him all the way down they give him Overeem who just beat JDS who has always been the #2 contender so it makes sense. Overeem/Arlovski for title shot. Basically it was #1champ #2arlovski #3miocic and then Arlovski losing just made him switch places so #2miocic(to fight for title) and #3arlovski
 
They are gambling on Overeem winning and JDS or Rothwell for the contender spot after Reem i guess.
 
Rothwell shoulda got a title shot before stipe.

I'm speculating, but it almost seems like when he re-negotiated his contract Reem was more interested in getting a fight in the Netherlands than he was negotiating a title shot.
 
Big Ben is going to absolutely decimate JDS and they are still going to give the shot to the Reem. It doesn't matter though because Big Ben already dusted the Reem and is laying waste to the entire division.
 
Simple, they gave big bucks to Reem . want to protect the investment. AA is an easier fight. IF Reem win this, title shot next
Big Fight Vs Werdum for the rubber match.

Personally I want to see OVereem Rothwell II, but I don't think it needs to be rushed. I think the next title contender will be the winner of one of these two fights. If it's both Rothwell and Overeem, then I see Overeem fighting for the title, then probably Rothwell. could possibly even setup that fight as the first defense if one of the two should win the belt.
 
Rothwell even said in an interview that nothing the UFC does makes sense haha. I think the way the UFC has handled the hw division match ups is part of the reason it seems so shitty.
 
JDS-Arlovski and Rothwell-Miocic makes the most sense imo

Overeem should fight for the title
 
match making in UFC is more of an art than science ts

Yeah totally man, those wins over Brandon Vera, Matt Mitrione and Josh Barnett were so huge. Such tough fights against such highly skilled and highly ranked beasts

You guys realise that Rothwell beat Overeem in his current streak, right?

Overeem getting a title shot before Rothwell would make zero sense. As would having Overeem v Rothwell II.

Why should Rothwell have to beat Overeem twice on his way to the title?

Rothwell has a really good case for a titleshot too.

Yes Rothwell beat Overeem but Overeem beat Werdum so it depends on your value judgment.

As long as JDS and Arlovski fight each other is my point because they're both top ranked fighters that recently lost.
