For those unfamiliar with Altis Life.. it's a free mod created from Arma 3 (an open sandbox FPS/Third Person military simulator) and it gives the players to create their own running city.
You start off with just cloths and basically no instructions.

The main objective is to get money, how you do that is what makes this game so entertaining.
Every player has the choice of getting a legal job (fishing, apple picker, mining, emt, police) or illegal jobs (cocaine, heroine, meth, herb, poaching) which pay more but have some risks. The game is full loot so anything that you have on your character when you die will be lost. There's a constant battle going on between Police v Rebels v Bounty Hunters v Civilians. It's basically up to you to decide how you want to play out.

Once you start getting a steady income you can arm yourself to the tits, purchase property where you can store items, amass a giant vehicle arsenal, run a drug cartel, become a medic, buy a boat and become a fisherman, or try to join the police force :\

Altis Life is the sandbox/mmo I've been looking to get into and having a sherdog population would be interesting. We could create a shop where people can come and talk MMA and if felt like it, could jump in a heli and kill some people trying to process coke.

I wish I would have bought ARMA 3 instead of the Day Z stand alone. :|

felt the same exact way. it took me months to finally buy ARMA 3 because I was so salty at DayZ SA.
I haven't touched DayZ in months. That game is beyond broken.

I've played altis for a couple hundred hours, it's aight mang. Get's a little boring after a while though with no clearly defined objective or enemy. There's only so many times you can break your mate out of jail before it becomes tedious.

I've actually been playing DayZ standalone for the past week or two and it's a lot smoother than it was 6 months ago, I'm really looking forward to updates this year I've got high hopes for DayZ once again.

DayZ SA is fucked man.. Serious game breaking bugs haven't been addressed and the developers have already made more than they expected.
They keep adding things like a yellow hat or several other useless items when the game is severely broken. Zombies still glitch through walls and chase you throughout the entire map and hackers still teleport and rage.

I actually hopped on a week ago to see what's changed.. within 5 minutes of logging in, I see a guy teleport in front of me, to which I kill him. I wait a few before checking out his body. When I finally check it out, I have a guy teleport right in front of me and kill me. Rage quit and said fuck this.

With Altis it's about the Role Play and relationships you have with the people there. Epoch is more geared towards long term goals. Altis is like a quick sandbox GTA.

I need some Arma III in my life. Maybe this will be next on my list after I finish the Mount and Blade DLC.

Altis is great, anyone who hasnt played it... Buy arma 3 ..

Just remember this.. Its role play, you will find most good servers have rules, you can't go around running medics over and shooting people on site in certain areas.. As I found out cough cough..

Find a good server and read the rules, get a job, get some licences, farm some dope and LSD, join a gang be a bandit, make friends.
