GSP is the lineal strikeforce 170 and 185 champion, as shields and diaz left with the real titles. (funny, cung le ducked shields, even though cung would probably have beaten him.)

otherwise, saff won the belt at 170. rockhold had the belt at 185.

Funny thing is that many of the considered "best" fighters like Gil, Diaz and Overeem (in the beginning) failed the expectations while guys considered middle pack like Lawler and Werdum (people were expecting Roy to KO him here on Sherdog) revived their careers and became the n.1 fighters in their divisions.
There were of course Rockhold and Cormier who made heir ways to the top like they were supposed to as well but overall no one could tell what was going to happen when Strikeforce closed.

Do u remember when it was around a lot of ppl treated it like Bellator a minor league, for some of us thou it had this PrideFC vibe & trumped UFC events in anticipation

Imagine if in 4 years some Bellator or WSOF Champions went on to do this again in the UFC (1st PrideFC then Strikeforce & we are, as mentioned, close to Dream doing the same)
