Are you actually trying to tell me he wasn't in his prime when Serra knocked him out?

I think it was his delve into the rabbit hole of religion and subsequent loss of hunger for the fight game.

When a guy starts to get overly religious and starts taking on the mentality of winning or losing being decided by "gods will" rather than his own intelligent game planning and utilizing his own skills to their fullest, i.e (not just head hunting and one dimensional tactics) that's not going to end well for anybody.

If you look at the winning streak reign at their prime then Silva has the most impressive one. He KOd them all to another dimension.

It's GSP for damn sure, but I'd put Fedor as the #2 in the list.

why is this poll still going, gsp has had the lead by nearly 10% for a long time now....there's no point leaving this poll up as gsp is way ahead. Everyone else is either on the verge of retiring or at the end of there career, none will make nearly a 10% increase to catch gsp in there career at this point, the only one who stands a small chance is jones...the poll needs to be taken down and put back up in a year or longer.

GSP will be to 1,350 votes before anyone else even gets to a 1,000.
Time to take the poll down <45>

The opinion of the majority of people doesnt say anything. The opinion of experts counts way more. Im curious what the opinion is of MMA coaches.

So basically the opinions of anyone posting on this forum are meaningless? Interesting...
Guess since the poll didn’t get the desired result we should move on to something else.

Exactly. Sherdoggers ofcourse know more about MMA than laymen. But if we really want something wich has weight it should be the MMA coaches and analysts.

GSP: Chael Sonnen fought Fedor, Jones and Silva, and trained with GSP, and said that GSP was the greatest of them all.

That, and the fact that his streak is the most dominant run we have seen to this point, in the toughest division.

    He's the GOAT.

that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard...why do experts opinions mean more than the fans.

At the end of the day it's the fans that keep the business and fighters going...no fans in the seats or fans watching the sport, no money, no fighting as fighters are not going to do it for free or in a stadium that is empty, and therefore no opinions or feedback from the so called experts.

coaches, team members, experts can be biased and imho there opinion tainted.

If you take the fans opinion which is on a greater scale that no amount of experts, coaches, team members could come close to the amount of votes from fans over them....that if the majority of fans on a way higher volume of votes give GSP the nod and he's been in first place basically since this poll started and I don't see him moving to 2nd place anytime soon, as Jones is the only person that stands a small chance of catching and surpassing that 10% edge that GSP has, to me that would mean take the poll down for awhile and revisit in a year or so.

It’s beyond idiotic. It’s just a reach because the poll wasn’t getting the desired result. If the coaches selected GSP then he would say that poll means nothing. They will keep going until a poll shows anyone other than GSP is the GOAT. Eventually he’ll say a poll of PED manufacturers is what matters most.

The numbers don't lie...as an example, the fact is in the numbers. If you have 100, 000 fans vote, and the outcome is GSP leading by almost 10% the whole time the poll has been up.

That proves that the "majority" of fans pick him...so you can come up with the excuse that there is way more gsp fans compared to the other fighters OR you can accept that on average whether you biased or not that more fans will vote for gsp simply based on that they feel he is #1 compared to the others.

Coaching, team staff, experts, are no better than the fans....at the end of the day your voting for your own reasons, whether personal preference or you break down different aspects of each fighter and base it from that, either way doesn't matter your vote is just a number, what matters is who has the most, that's like saying ony politicians votes/opinions count when election time but the citizens of the country there vote/opinions mean dick all....that's how stupid some people sound when posting on sherdog.
