about Anderson Silva and his legacy. Just know that 1/2 the fighters he faced in the UFC tested for something: Nick Diaz Stephan Bonnar Chael Sonnen Vitor Belfort Forrest Griffin James Irvin Nate Marquardt Chris Leben The guys that didn't: Chris Weidman Yushin Okami (although I find it interesting that he is now going down to 170 hmm) Demian Maia Dan Henderson (who was on TRT) Rich Franklin Patrick Cote Travis Lutter (but he did come in heavy for their fight) Thales Leites
That may be, but are you saying Anderson is more innocent if more of his opponents test positive and less innocent if less of his opponents test positive? What they do is beyond his control. It's up to him whether he cheats or not.
this is a moot point to the fact silva cheated and made up a BS excuse. anderson is a cheater, get over it. he still has a legacy, we don't even need to question that, but he did this to himself. the "I got it from a friend" excuse in this day and age is just plain sad.
It doesn't matter. People who want to hate, will hate. People who want to forgive, will forgive. You won't convince the haters. The fans need no convincing or arguments.
You can be the biggest Anderson nuthugger ever, and got to at least admit this whole ordeal is quite embarassing. All those trial delays and this was his excuse?
How people will judge PED use in the long term is still not clear. Ben Johnson, Barry Bonds, Lance Armstrong, Anderson Silva are all in the same category - fifty years from now they might all be rehabilitated, or they might all be considered cheaters. Too early to say. For the moment, they're all considered cheaters.
This is why I just don't care about PED's. These are the guys who actually got caught being on something. So there's tons more who didn't (because assuming all users get caught is just dumb), and doesn't factor those who use something that cannot be tested for or get augmenting surgeries. In the end it's better to just judge on what happens when they actually fight, there's too much "cheating" and advantage seeking in the sport.
