The doctor will say whatever the fighter wants. If the fighter tell his doctor "I'm not ready" then the doctor will be cautious and agree with him, unless it's been like 1 year+ that is.

I'm not a fighter, so this only anecdotally compares, but I blew up my ankle years and years ago, doctor went with what I said for the first few months.

I was ~24 and getting disability pay, had a number of weeks left on that, and was enjoying being paid for not working. Towards the end I tried to exaggerate my symptoms to try to extend it a bit, and they eventually called my bluff and released me.

point being, you're right. here they're dealing with a fighter, neck surgery, they're going to play it cautious until there's no question he's ready.

I think if it weren't for the situation that lead to all this, most wouldn't be questioning someone not being ready this quickly after a neck surgery.

Don't think people can say he ducked the fight, looks like the UFC is at fault for trying to rush the fight before Arjo has recovered enough from his surgery.

I completely agree UFC tried to rush Sterling into a rematch when was not fully healed. You can see in this case UFC would rather have Yan as its champion instead of Sterling. UFC tried to do the same with Stipe after DC poked his eye at least 5+ times in the rematch in which Stipe won his belt back. UFC tried to book Stipe for fights when he wasn't even close to being fully healed from the eye injury.

Nah. You think these people fight for a living because they're brave. Most of them do it because they're too stupid or uneducated to do something else. Some of them come from places where you often find yourself in much more dangerous situations than a sanctioned fight.
