With Max and Volk past their prime and Ilia having moved up is Zabit strategically seeking a return? He would've had no shot against those 3.

Lopes, Arnold and Jean are still tough fights but Zabit can cancel out Evloev.

Is Ali selling wolf tickets? Is Zabit soon getting his medical degree after he ducked UFC 5 round fights when he can no longer take 3 rounders?

He would have shot against all 3, especially after getting his diaphragm problem surgically corrected. Zabit is a greater talent than all.

As recently as last month, his team said he is not coming back. May be he changed his mind, he has been training with Islam over the last few days weeks.

"He would've had no shot against those 3."

That's a big claim for an unknown talent, now from years ago.

That's 2 of the top 3 FW GOATs and a guy who KOd both of them in a comparison with a dude who lost damn near every round 3 in UFC to guys like Kattar, Jeremy and was even getting walked down in the 3rd round by Kyle Bochniak.

Zabit had 2 rounds of gas. That was known and why he ducked UFC when he had to take 5 rounders going forward, so he chose to pursue something easier where the competition is weaker with a medical degree.

"He would have a shot against all 3" yes I have complete confidence in the guy who had horrible cardio, hasn't beaten a single relevant opponent, and hasn't competed in 6 years <lmao>

Go look at Jeremy Stephens' and Calvin Kattar's records if you need a reality check that badly. BJ Penn was less delusional about his imposter mom than this post was <lmao>

he had a serious medical issue. that's why I said the bit about surgery about repairing his diaphragm, which was preventing normal breathing. And I said he would have...Your reading comprehension leaves a lot to be desired.

Zabit had health problems (there were talks of a congenital heart issue not life-threatening but performance impacting), which were actually the reason he got deeply interested in medicine and eventually decided to stop fighting, study and become a doctor.

He might have had surgery to resolve it, or found a training “workaround” … or more likely it’s Ali writing some nonsense. Zabit must also be mid 30s now.

Again, you are completely delusional and your parents likely smoked crack. I don't care if they dipped him in the River Styx, the guy hasn't fought in 6 YEARS!!! His resume was a complete fraud even back in his prime and you are acting like a surgery is suddenly going to make a massive layoff where he was not even training full time anymore disappear??

Go watch the Nick Diaz vs Lawler 2 fight for a reminder of how someone looks after a long layoff and then check yourself into a mental institution lol

You wouldn’t understand greatness if it hit you in the face.

Why don’t you watch fights instead of keeping tabs on fighters records? The technical brilliance in Zabit’s striking and grappling is astonishing. The creativity that he has and what he can do in there is very rare.

The fact that so many here keep spouting nonsense like trash cardio, can crusher etc. instead of being able to appreciate the mixed martial arts put on display by the man…

<{clintugh}>

For shame.

I think he has been out for a while but guys like Yair are still competitive in the division. Zabit's cardio isn't going to get better in his mid 30s.

If he comes back and wins, i hope there's a lot of doctor jokes like he "surgically" dismantled blabla

How is it nonsense when he consistently slowed down in the most relevant fights of his career?

He's 34 and hasn't fought since before the pandemic, coming back would be a terrible choice for him that would only lead to tough losses.

I would love to see him fight guys like Silva or Yair I don’t think he could beat them especially after such a long hiatus but holy fuck would those fights be entertaining!

If he comes back, it’s going to look rough. Can’t see him doing well.

Ah yes one of my favorites

When he was on he was such a pleasure to watch. His whole offensive prowess. His striking was similar to Yairs but he could be a menace in the ground. Had the most aesthetic Sullev Stretch I've seen

His cardio man. Sometimes when he wasnt the hammer it seemed like he would fold. Who could forget the end of that Katter fight. Even against Bochniak

Still he's 17-1. But that's a 6 year layoff. Holy shit
