Romanov is ranked 13 in the UFC, coming off a loss against Tybura. He was a huge favourite against Tybura who's a tough veteran.

I was looking out for four heavyweight prospects recently: Gane, Romanov, Aspinall and Daukaus whereas obviously there were some gap between the first three and Daukaus. Only one remains obviously, but if Romanov can fix his cardio issue, which was a cause of concern for me against Tybura, he is a handful for anybody.

Almeida just beat Shamal who is ranked 15. So not only this fight makes a lot of sense ranking-wise, #13 vs #15, this would be an excellent fight.

I got Romanov by King Kong smash. I would get him to re-gain his weight and come in heavy, since it sure looked like it didn't help him at all with his cardio.

I wonder what the odds would be after Romanov coming off a loss and Almeida running over everyone.

Romanov -130
Almeida +105

I think almeida is similar to how khamzat was coming up, anyone not in the top 5 he's running through.

Given how bad Romanov has looked when facing other strong grapplers past the first round, my money is pn Jailton making him cry uncle in the third.

Romanov vs. Jon Jones was what I was hoping for Jones'heavyweight debut

Almeida has WMMA level punching power i don't think i have seen weaker punches.

I like this fight, but... this fight will either be fireworks or a Lay and Pray stinker. Almeida’s TDD seems on point against the few wrestlers he’s faced, HW and LHW, problem is he hasn’t been in the cage with a fighter remotely close to Romanov’s grappling chops. It’s an intriguing matchup that’s tempo will be solely predicated on Jailton’s ability to keep it on the feet, because if he gets taken down it’ll be for the remainder of the round, as Alexandar’s top pressure is ridiculous.

Almeida hasn't fought half the grappler Espino and Tybura is either.

And no one knows what Almeid's gas tank looks like either. We know when he went to a decision he lost though.

I think Romanov would fuck him up good.

I always favor the great BJJ guy over the great wrestler when the wrestler has bad striking and average bjj.

It would be a good test for Jailton though, and it's the kind of style he needs to prove he can beat if he wants to hang at the top of HW. I still think Jailton should either gain 5-10lbs for hw, or lose 5-10lbs and go back to lhw.

let's see how he looks against this amazing almeida then, this terrible Romanov.
i mean i’m not disagreeing with the idea of the matchup at all. could be an interesting fight. i expect almeida would be a large favorite though, for good reason.

lmfao. the idea of Almeida being a large favourite is borderline insane. lol

If Romanov can fix his cardio in time, if people think like this, bet the house ffs.

Myth? Get back to us when Almeida fights half the grappler that Tybura and Epsino is and let's talk about this amazing grappling of Almeida.

I believe jailton's bjj is much better. They should fight and we can find out. I never said jailton's striking was better, but it can't really be much worse than romanov's. I'd expect that fight to be on the mat. May the better man win if they fight.
