Media Alex Pereira to Daniel Cormier: "Don't worry" in response to criticism of his training ahead of Anakalev fight

Massive Alex fan here but …

It’s Don’t Worry if he wins

And not here to make excuses, but here’s my list of excuses if he loses.

I get DCs concern. It's the Rocky 3 plot.

Pereira out there doing superstar shit while no one hears a peep from Ankalaev.

Pereira is always training though.

I just don't understand why so many people are talking like Ank is this wrestling machine, not sure what everyones been watching lol, I've seen all of his UFC fights and he is 95% striking only, its all striking fights. There were a few fights where it hit the floor such as Paul Craig and Ank got tapped, then the Jan fight there was some grappling and it ended in a 5 round draw, and to be honest I wasn't really impressed with his ground, no passing, no sub attempts, very little ground 'n' pound, can't say I was amazed lol

Alex has really been focusing on his grappling, and the guy in the video is a 4 time Olympian from Dagestan in both wrestling and judo. It wouldn't surprise me at this point if Alex had the best grappling in the 205 division and LNPs Ank 50-45 to make a point.
I wouldn't be shocked if Alex was able to expose how inferior the talent is at LHW compared to lower weight classes by stopping his take downs and winning decisively.

Agreed.

I will say that Ankelov is clearly good at getting W's though. I wouldn't be surprised if he won.. but I don't think if he wins it's going to be because he puts on a wrestling lesson.

I think the striking will be much more competitive than a lot of people are assuming.
