Alex Pereira now 243 lbs. Is this a sign of Jon Jones vs Alex Super fight?

Its easy to fluctuate around 200-240 lbs weight for his size. Im 6ft 4 and usually around 220 lbs in good shape. I can easily in a couple of days go up to 240 gaining 20 pounds. I can also lose them pretty easily again by not eatint excessive crap and keep training in a few days.

Like 240 give or take. And, to be frank: he looks better at that weight than a lot of other "heavyweights". A relatively low body fat and relatively low muscle mass for that weight. That is a legit heavyweight frame.

Many other heavyweights could do the same thing. The fact that this guy fought at 185 should tell you that even guys of this size, if they get really trim and cut alot of weight can make 185. It's just that most don't bother.

the difference is though, most of the fat HWs have been fat and big their entire life they're used to being heavy and have adapted to the size and weight. just because "you look good" at that weight doesn't mean he has the ability to contend with the HWs. Jailton Almeida looks great compared to a lot of HWs and even has a lot of wins at HW, but he still got big brothered by Blaydes and gassed badly trying his hardest to hold Black Beast down on short notice. and those are signs that the guys he's fighting are too big and/or he's too small to fight the fight he wants to fight.

Heh... As a chama fan, it's sad for me. Alex have it all vs Ank for IFW, fighting with a broken feet and staph infection... It was competitive and better than the first one, both fighters risked more, but Alex .... He will be missed by the UFC (Jiri posted a picture praying and saying "whatever the religion, thanks for showing me the way to evolve. I hope you stay firm" ) ...

Pretty much this, most HW’s are just lazy af. They could easimy make LHW and some even MW. But they prefer to drink eat junk food and dont like to train.

Alex just looks fatter lol. I think he just isn’t training as hard. He needed a long break after all the activity he was putting up in his title run

Guys, Alex is in a bad spot... It's unlikely he fights again....

He got pretty injured like his knee style Rampage Jackson...

Would be a total dick move from Jones. Which he is known for.

Without shoes and clothes he weighs 240. Considering he could do crazy cuts to 185, that's not far away from his weight cut to 205.
In camp he will probably go to 235 anyway.

Alex Pereira vs Jon Jones would be like Anderson Silva vs JJ back in the days to me. But that's not possible anymore. Alex found his Chris Weidman after fighting in shirt notice fights and losing more of his physical while Ankalaev , younger, would fight way less often and attack right when the chama had burnt a lot of his physical healthy in short notice call outs

Maybe. It's a winnable fight for Jon with his wrestling. Makes sense for UFC to make this cause it would sell well you would think.

He just wants to be at his biggest in the Ank rematch.

Alex is rematching Ank in Oct-Nov, he has said it himself. Nothing to debate.

Stipe got KO’ed, was retired for yrs and Jones still begged to fight him. He will make any excuse to fight Alex and not Tom.
I agree.
This is not what people want though.

I would like to think he can't get away with it again.

But we do have a lot of Uncle Dana's parrots on this site. "Alex is the greatest ever, huge win for Jon."

No way dude. If he retires without facing Aspinall he will be forever remembered as a paper champ and a shameless duck.

By the hardcore fans certainly. I'd view Jon that way.

The UFC is financially floated by the casuals though, who are only attracted by big names, and then they pool their money to buy the overpriced PPVs.

Jones vs Pereira would be marketed as a super fight. Not saying I want to see this, but nobody should still be under any belief that Jon will ever fight Tom. He's said as much that the Pereira fight intrigues him, or it's retire rather than face Jones.

Either way, the UFC created this mess by not stripping Jon over 6 months ago.

pereira with that weight in his thighs
