There is a cap on how much can be awarded per plaintiff in Texas. He's not going to be on the hook for that total amount. Also, he very likely has professional liability insurance, something that cannot be disclosed in court. He'll likely not pay anything.

Insurance typically only pays out if the policy holder has done the right thing and not caused the damages by their own malfeasance which Jones obviously has.
