As you all know, almost 2 weeks ago (August 14 2021)
in Moscow, an exhibition fight took place according to the rules of boxing between two MMA fighters, where "The Notorious" Vyacheslav Datsik, aka "Red Tarzan" won by unanimous decision over Daniyalom Elbaev, aka "T-34" (https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/fighters/157629-daniyal-elbaev)
datsik_-_t-34.jpeg

The fight was held in three rounds of two minutes. With the blow of the starting gong, the fighters rushed into a furious exchange of blows, where more success was on the side of Datsik.
Elbaev showed his courageous character and was able to bring the battle to the final bell on his feet, responding to Datsik’s attacks until the very last second of the confrontation.
As a result, all three judges unanimously gave the victory in favor of Datsik.

Datsik's old rival Aleksander "The Grim Reaper" Emelianenko, gave his commentary on the fight a few days ago, in Russian of course:

If any Russian-speaking sherdogger could give us some cliffs, that would be very appreciated!

Aleskander vs Datsik is still, to this day, the most exciting freaskhow in Russian MMA (they could even box, since both of them have an interest in this sport) and it would make big numbers for some local card.
Both of them are known for their stints in Russian prisons, and have been feuding on social medias since 2010.

Aleks last MMA win was against UFC veteran Viktor Pešta (in July of 2018)

His next MMA fight was one month later, a DRAW against Bellator veteran Tony Johnson Jr. (who defeated Alexander "Drago" Volkov, and later became the ACA heavyweight champion)

Aleksander then won his second pro boxing bout, and lost his last MMA fight last year against the rising star and Sambo champion Magomed Ismailov.

Let's hope these videos about Aleksander that have been surfacing in Russian MMA webistes for the last couple weeks are good news, since I can't decipher the context at all...
Well at least, they're talking about him, and he's not in cuffs!

wait he was only in jail a year for a rape conviction? Yikes.
No, it was rape + stealing of passport + something like forcing of consuming drugs (according to Russian Wiki page but same page then says that it was rape + stealing of passport). Court decision was in May of 2015 and in November of 2016 he was out of prison (but I think he spend some time in jail and by Russian laws jail is considered worse than prison, so if I am not mistaken now legally it's like 1 day in jail = 1,5 day in prison).

Recent news about Aleksander was like that -- he said that his next 3 fights will be boxing bouts, now says that he plans to have 1 fight per month from September to December and some stuff about Bellator. Also was funny story, his Instagram posted something like that he want to celebrate his birthday with Fedor and family, but when he was asked about it in interview he said that he doesn't ever knows password of that page and that everything on it is the creation of his manager.
He is fighting Artem Tarasov at September 18, mma gloves, bare knuckle rules. Then it's boxing bout with rapper Dzhigan.
I've seen that story with Bellator is like that -- he told his manager to write them a e-mail that he wants to fight at Bellator in Moscow and since they didn't wrote "No" (or anything, it seems) he considers that as a negotiation.

Thanks a lot man!
So Aleks will be bare-knuckling Artem Tarasov, the smaller dude that got the shit beaten out of him in the gym (it counted as a pro fight for some reason, but the fight is on youtube and it's in his gym, with a few people sitting around)?
Sure, why not, might as well stay active...

But had Datsik been a bit more patient, he would have easily beaten "Lionheart", dude kept looking for exits and all, Datsik outclassed him.

Good news about Aleks boxing in general, even if his pro debut was a tad disappointing, at least it was a reality check for a lot of us back then, me included.

Poor Aleks spent so many years chasing a Cro Cop rematch, I remember when he gave interviews and all he would talk about was how he would KO Mirko in a rematch an all ^^
Too bad Mirko is too banged up nowadays, because between MMA, Kickboxing, boxing and bare-knuckles, they could have set a nice $$$$$ thing with the rivalry being milked dry.

I know Aleks is impossible to defend if he raped someone, but it's still been cool to watch him and Fedor compete in Sambo over the years, plus the odd MMA fight against russian can
(I mean, like that guy who gave up to a "phantom punch" from Aleks, come on Russia, you can do better )

Merci mon ami!

Lol that Aleks Bellator story makes much more sense now

I'm actually in active negotiations with the UFC, I wrote Dana a DM on instagram

I am pretty sure Aleks said that his approach is like -- I agree to every fight/opponent someone offers to me.
Also he recently said during Instagram live chat that he signed papers for fight with Vladimir Mineev (well, actually he wasn't sure himself, for this fight he actually signed papers or not). And said that to make Datsik fight happen (in boxing?) he only need to go to Boxing Federation (or somewhere, seems he is not sure where he needs to go to sign papers for this fight) and sign the papers.

Damn, Aleks is stepping up for once! Mineev is a tough bastard, and a very good kickboxer.
"Big Dillashaw" 's MMA draw vs Magomed Ismailov (Aleks' last fight/loss) a couple years back was a heck of a fight, and Magomed got closed to being finished than Mineev did.

I mean, Aleks will have a comfy weight advantage if they fight, but he also had a big one against Ismailov and still got smeshed.

Last time Aleks fought an elite kickboxer, poor Emelianenko got brutalized ... lemme check, damn, the Peter Graham fight was in 2010?? <TheWire1>

Holy shit, time flies. I would have guessed not before 2015 at least. Sheeeit.
Graham was supposed to be washed up, and just a name for Aleks to KO, but that win actually rejuvenated Peter's career a bit. <{1-8}> noice.

Wait I was wrong, I had forgotten about the 2012 Konstantin Glukhov fight. The Bear Slayer was a legit kickboxer in his prime, won a couple K1 tournament... his record is kinda misleading since he lost a bunch of extremely close & competitive split decisions/majority decisions.

ANYWAY, 'bout Aleks vs Mineev...
Now I wonder if the fight will be under MMA or boxing rules... kickboxing would obviously heavily favor Mineev, and MMA would heavily favor Aleks (even if he doesn't use his Sambo skills that much nowadays, he's still a multiple times world champion & Russia champion with a biiig weight advantage).

They might compromise and box, since neither is very experimented... Aleks has 2 bouts, but the more recent one was a freakshow, and the first one was an eye opening beating from Khizir Pliev.
For many of us, this bout was the official "okay, maybe MMA fighters with good hands wouldn't walk through elite boxers after all"
(which was a very popular opinion back in the days)

Since Aleks was in the top 5 "fighter you'd like to see box/MMA guys with the best boxing skills", and his usual stance got him boxed up pretty bad, and the only reason he got a draw instead of a loss was because it was in Russia and Aleks was a big name.

Okay, enough ramblings, thanks again for the infos <RomeroSalute>

Let's hope this ends up leading to Aleks vs Datsik down the line.
That's one of MMA's biggest feud that never got resolved in the ring/cage (or in a street fight), up there with Wanderlei vs Krazy Horse, and Ryan Gracie vs Wallid Ismail...

Fight against Mineev is under boxing rules (or that is the info that I've seen).

Emelianenko-Tarasov starts around 2:34:13

Yep, I've watched it yesterday.

I really don't get Tarasov's deal... SPOILER ALERT FOR THE BOXING MATCH (with MMA gloves in a MMA cage) WITH ALEKS

I figured that if Tarasov looked like shit against Datsik, until he got lucky and Red Tarzan threw an illegal knee after 2 rounds of bashing him legally while Artem "Lionheart" Tarasov (actual nickname) tried to run from the fight the whole time, it was because he didn't have time to prepare or whatever

He was fighting Datsik who is a couple weight classes above him, so maybe he tried to have him gassing?

But he did the exact same thing with Aleks, ran around à la Quarry/Starnes mma with Aleks making the crowd laugh by running after him like it was Wand vs Tito or something...

From what I've read, Tarasov had a full training camp for this bout, while Aleks took it on relatively short notice; and Artem did look to be in shape and all.

Any Russian sherbro could shed some light on this Lionheart character?

Even his record is weird, he had a couple losses in 2011/2012, then nothing up until 2018 when he fought 6 guys with 0-0 records in a row, plus Datsik (that he managed to "beat" via DQ)

HAHA WAIT WHAT

That's the news concerning Tarasov that got the most articles online
“MMA fighter Artem Tarasov has been told he will be in for an “exciting night” if he beats Mikhail Koklyaev.

Tarasov will take on Russian strongman Koklyaev in Moscow on Saturday February 20.

He is expected to lose, considering his opponent’s history of competing at World Strongest Man competitions.

Koklyaev has seven first-place wins at Strongman events and finished third in the 2010 World Strongest Man contest.

However, if he is successful, he has been promised an “exciting night” by porn star Lola Taylor.”

Well, turns out Lionheart got his ass kicked by Koklyaev (the strongman dude who lost to Aleks in boxing), so he didn't get his freebee <JennieThumbsUp>

It's even on the pr0nstar's wikipedia page: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lola_Taylor
""
Apparently she offered the same deal to the first nerd to vanquish COVID...

Not sure about full training camp -- I think Tarasov or his coach said after the fight that he started preparing 2 weeks before the bout + I've seen Aleks said that he saw Tarasov 2 or 3 weeks before the bout at some mma event drinking beer.
Back in 2020 Tarasov claimed that there were offer/interest in him from UFC. Most comments (that I've seen) were that Tarasov probably lying.

Some news regarding Aleks. In one interview he said, like a couple of weeks ago, that he would agree to fight Fedor and that he is gonna be a betting favourite if fight happens. Last talked to Fedor 14 years ago and happy with that (I've seen comments that this is bullshit since Fedor was in his corner like 9 or 7 years ago). Said that Fedor didn't signed with UFC because chances of losing there was 100 %.
Regarding fights -- head of promotion Hardcore posted on social media that there were agreement that after Tarasov fight Aleks will have mma fight there; regarding boxing bout with Mineev, Mineev said that in 2020 he was interested but not anymore.

About Tarasov's training, I just repeated what he said before the fight, that he went to train "in the mountains" for a few weeks, going hardcore and all.
After reading a bit about him, I finally understood why he was semi-famous now;
He has a successful podcast or something like that, and beating a bunch of 0-0 dudes was good for his image.

I think he's gotten his rematch with Datsik, I'll check it out later; their first fight was so one-sided in Datsik's favor, I imagine it was the same think all over again, hopefully without Datsik fucking up and throwing an illegal knee (which wasn't even too bad/obvious, like Sterling/Yan).

Damn, Aleks is an asshole. I didn't want to believe it back in the days because I loved to watch him fight, but I guess Sergei was right about him all along...
(I still don't believe Datsik's claims about Aleks though, that shit was too surreal ^^)

I still remember when Aleks blamed Fedor for his losses against Barnett and Werdum (I was super lucky and got to watch the Aleks/Werdum bout live, that was a super fun 2H2H card <Oku03> ).
Aleks kept saying that if his sub defense was so bad it was because Fedor didn't do the right things and blablabla <Waaah>

Fedor kept saying that Aleks was more talented that he was, but that he was lazy; he kept trying to push him to be successful but it seems like Aleks isn't grateful at all.
There was a time when their Sambo bouts were wholesome to me, now I just wish Fedor had cranked those subs

I think the last time Fedor was in his corner was at one of the M-1 events that Aleks would fight at, before he was found guilty of raping his housekeeper. Fedor refused to associate with him after that, including cornering him and helping him train.

Aaaah, what could have been... so much potential in one pic, and only Fedor peaked... well Sergei did better than Aleks, even if lots of people felt that he should stuck to MMA instead of going full K1/GLORY for a while;
It did it some good I think, I just found out that he fought some guys in boxing and bare-knuckle boxing earlier this very year!
Bare-knuckle =>
Boxing=> I couldn't find his 2021 fight, so let's rewatch his 2020 bout against Danny "The Brixton Bomber" Williams, the "Mike Tyson Killa"

Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort aren't the only ones out-boxing former champs <mma4>Sergei finishing Dynamite Dan in his very first pro-boxing bout, I'm sure TRILLER would have made it sound impressive as hell.

TL;DR
Aleks isn't even a has-been, he's a never was... he doesn't deserve to fight his brother, who was the number 1 fighter on the planet for 7 years.
Even the worst Fedor haters can't deny that he would have been the favorite against everyone in MMA (and Sambo for a good while too) between 2003 and 2009.

AFAIK Fedor is the only GOAT candidate to have been the number 1 in both MMA and another combat sport at the same time.
Like if Jon Jones was some kickboxing or wrestling champion at the same time he was the 205 GOAT or some shit

Tarasov was doing pranks and I think you can see them on his Youtube channel and he was fighting at Strelka event (it's like mma promotion where amateurs/everyone who wanted is able to fight and they fighting outdoors).
And I think he is still involved with combat sports -- for example I saw him being referee at some bare knuckle event earlier this year.

So, Alex posted on his Instagram that he is fighting Jeff Monson at December 10, bare knuckle bout, Hardcore FC promotion.

Also, Coker confirmed that it wasn't true that they had talks about signing him.
