307 is in Utah at elevation. Aldo's tank isn't great. He would likely gas defending takedowns and lose a UD, sadly. Just like he did against Merab despite stuffing all of his takedown attempts.
Also, Aldo doesn't see offense as well as he used to, has issues with pressure at his age and isn't nearly as durable as he once was. He would lose to Topuria. Jose's a legend, exemplified by the fact that he's still fighting killers at 135 this far into his career with that mileage, but he's not a real contender anymore, in my opinion. Father Time is undefeated.

Honestly you're not wrong at all but I would love to see Also get another crack at a title. If he somehow managed to win another title at this point in his career he's solidly top 3 of all time. He's already top 5 imo

I'd love to see Aldo get another title shot, I don't think he lost against the champion Merab either. Aldo should be 5-0 in his last 5 fights and against all top 10 contenders he beat as well, the only guy who wasn't top 10 was his last fight
The way people talk is as if Aldo has become like Tony lol, I don't know what people are watching and seeing. Aldo still has lightning fast reflexes and is so accurate and slick, he hasn't lost his sharpness at all. Even in the boxing fights he is so slick.
Its a shame it says 4-1 in his last 5 because I'm not convinced Merab beat him, zero takedowns, close to zero strikes landed, its a joke. Merab couldn't take him down or do anything with him so he used his shots as an excuse to try and hold Aldo's wrists so he can't punch and just hold for dear life, should be some points taken for anti fighting. Aldo won anyways, better strikes landed and there was no ground.

Don't wanna see one of my favorites get a loss by hugging. Give Aldo fun fights why we still have him.
