fighting not to lose instead of fighting to win. i know, I know, some people hate this phrase but aldo did exactly that last night. fought very cautious and taking minimal risks well edgar chased n chased. while not the most entertaining it was infact a smart fight. A wins a win.
against conor the first time around you might say aldo fought to win and we all know how that one turned out.

You are right, Aldo should have tried the running hay maker again.

He fought a safe game plan and while effective, it wasn't terribly exciting. He won't be able to use that game plan against Conor though.

I thought that was the best fight of 200. Aldo looked amazing.

Yeah I loved it that was actually an aggressive fight by both he sat in the pocket and exchanged, I feel like him not blitzing Edgar and finishing him quick has people mad. That's Frankie Edgar, an absolute monster in his own right. Too many people are forgetting that.

I don't agree at all.

I completely disagree. I think both did their best efforts.

There are a lot of dumb muh fuckas on Sherdog.

He fought the perfect way to beat Edgar, countered his footwork with his own and hit him with hard counter shots everytime Edgar came in. Everytime Edgar attempted a takedown, he got tossed aside like a child.

When Pederneiras asked Aldo to take one to give one (between the 3rd and the 4th rounds I think) it got me worried. Aldo fought smart.

Watching I didn't really think of it as playing safe. I thought he looked masterful out there against someone as good as Edgar.

Also Aldo would have to be an idiot to swing for the fences in that fight. He got his brain rattled BAD by Mendez and we all know what happened to his brain in the Conor fight...His chin does not have much longer left.

Aldo looked great

People wanna blame aldo ?
Hey let's blame Edgar. He was obviously down a few rounds to Aldo so maybe he should have pushed more and took bigger risks not Aldo

This. I'm kind of surprised people didn't think they were watching a beautiful fight. That was Machida v. Shogun 1 type of fight. Aldo pretty much showed what the most technical "sprawl and brawl" can be. Edgar is also very technical, a lesser striker and less durable one may have gotten KTFO
