Aldo vs. Edgar Interim FW Title...

If McGregor vs. Diazz II is announced theres no excuse for not creating an interim title.

It would send a clear message that the current champ has no interest in defending his belt, despite being more than willing to compete.

With Aldo and Edgar both chomping at the bit to get this fight I don't see how Dana could justify McGregor ducking the weight-class again without vacating his title.

Interim titles should only be used in extreme circumstances when a champ is UNABLE to defend his belt, not when the champ is UNWILLING to defend his belt.

It may be to early for the UFC to create an Interim title. If the Diaz rematch happens, and by some miracle Conor wins, I don't see Conor ever going back down to 145. They will have to strip him of the title, or he will have to vacate. Either way, the title will lose some validity, but I like the idea of Aldo vs Edgar 2 for the title, if Conor leaves the division permanently.
