Alcohol and protein absorption

    ok, not sure if this is total BS or what not

    but I was talking to a buddy who said that you shouldnt drink any alcohol for like 9 hours or something after workouts when youve had a protein shake or what not. He said that consuming alcohol stops the body from synthesizing protein or something like that

    has anyone heard this? any truth?

    Ethanol (colloquially referred to as "alcohol") negatively affects the cellular machinery that is involved in muscle growth and repair. It actually has a negative score on The Anabolic Index rating system.
