News Alberta becomes second Canadian province to halt betting on UFC events

LOL at people blaming Krause. The UFC gambling policy was 30 years late and a bit short.

Sin City incoming. The UFC is DEAD!

Awesome. Get a job to earn money, stop relying on others to get it for you.

{<huh}

How is working for somebody else NOT relying on others to get money? They have the money.

Especially when compared to sports betting where you're using your own money and knowledge of what's likely to happen to try and earn more money.

deez canadiens need to relax a little

let the boys gamble
The issue is integrity. Fighters hiding injuries, especially with the UFCs cooperation, is illegal for gambling, even in the united states.

We are seeing some of the UFC betting lines change drastically in the 48 hours leading up to fight, which doesn't make sense when you look at other combat sports with more integrity. The math says that some UFC officials and fighter coaches should go to prison.

James Krause... The least likely destroyer of the UFC we could have imagined.

I always assumed it would be Dana getting #MeToo'd

Wait, Ontario banned gambling on the UFC?! How is Drake going to lose all that money?

Same as the old days when casinos were illegal in Ontario - cross the border to Quebec and gamble away.

I expect other provinces to follow Ontario's lead.

Krause really fucked up bad.

Hmmmm, professional athletes getting paid peanuts and the possibility to make more money gambling, what could go wrong? Krause messed it up for everybody.

The TJ scandal has made it that I'm no longer betting on any retired/long laid off athletes until the UFC fixes their joke of a medical process that allowed him to have passed. Let alone that they covered up his public workout and held it beyond closed doors with zero press so that he wouldn't be subject to the eye test by fans, or that TJ told the ref backstage his arm would pop out and the fight wasn't immediately called off then and there.

I mean, not that I even can bet anymore. But if/when this changes I'm sticking strictly to fighters I've seen compete recently and have some hope they're healthy based on their last performances. Because right now there's zero.
