I find this very scary! I can't find a source in English yet so you'll have to trust my translation.

Jihad Ahmad Deyab, a Syrian, who did time in Guantanamo for his connection with Al Qaeda is now in Brazil. He was one of six ex-prisoners Uruguay accepted as refugees back in 2004.
Uruguay government confirmed that before fleeing to Brazil, Deyab tried to cross the border legally but was stopped by Brazilian authorities. Deyab's location is unknown since June 6.
Eduardo Bonomi, minister of the Interior of Uruguay, said that they are working with the Interpol and the US Embassy to locate Deyab.
Deyab, 45 years old, was arrested in Pakistan for being an Al Qaeda member. He participated in operations in Africa and worked as recruiter in Europe. His past made Americans not allow his return home and former president Jose Mujica promised to watch the terrorist but now he's in Brazilian territory.
