First off he is such a fun fighter to watch,,has a chin made of steel, good all around game...Trains with Weidman's camp in Strong Island. 3 fight win streak and on the rise...Who do you guys think would be a good match for him next?

I hope to see him vs a top 10-15 guy...

And further, what do you think of his long term prospects,,I could see him as a top 10 guy, maybe even top 5 eventually.

thoughts?

Sherdog logic

1: TUF doesn't produce contenders

2: Iaquinta was on TUF (and didn't even win his season)

3: Ergo, Iaquinta has no hope of contendership.

Redo the Anthony Njokuani fight that should be a proper test.

Looks pretty average to me. I mean, he barely beat that guy that looked like Prince.

He's good man, we'll see what happens. I think the rate they're bringing him along is perfect.

Yeah, I mean so what that he beat Myles Jury.

forgot he knocked out jury on tuf.i have been really impressed with jury in the ufc as well 4-0 and ragdolled mj.

al had a solid win against couture dominated him in fact, really impressed me in that fight as couture looked good in strikeforce.

Hope to see him face someone like nijem next or tibau

If this is Sherdog logic, then obviously that's why we see so many moronic comments like yours.

1. Rashad Evans (former LHW champ)
2. Nate Diaz (fought for the title)
3. Forrest Griffin (Former LHW champ)
4. Joe Lauzon (multiple fight of the night winner)
5. Koscheck (fought for the title twice)
6. Gray Maynard (fought for the title twice)

Now I don't know what the hell a contender is in your book, but TUF has produced multiple title contenders and champions. Ergo, Iaquinta has a pretty damn good shot at going for a title run. To also add he's coming from a camp coached by a guy (Sera) who performed a huge upset for a title. Then that coach helped coach another guy (Weidman) who performed the same upset TWICE and is the current title holder. So yeah, sherdog logic because of idiots like you is fucking stupid. Moron.

Those guys are from the early seasons, there have been about 20 series since and they have produced nothing but duds that take up space on the UFC roster.

The guys you listed fought on the very first TUF's when there was still a lot of talent outside the UFC, enough to fill rosters for shows like this.

You're the fucking moron. We're on TUF 19 and you can't list a contender from the last 14 seasons. That pretty much explains to you what the show's become. Sorry I don't take much stock in examples from guys on the show from 7 years ago.

Also, that guy was being sarcastic and making fun of Sherdog logic, but you're obviously an idiot and couldn't comprehend that. Moron. :D

John Dodson?... Dude put it on Johnson like nobody else has, until he gassed of course.

TJ Dillashaw isn't far off himself, he'll be next if Assuncao blows his next fight.

Dodson, Dillishaw, Nate Diaz, Gray Maynard, Bermudez, Siler, Michael Johnson, Caceres, Costas, McGee, and Tavares just to name a couple. Three guys on that list challenged for a title already, while several others have fought in contenders bouts.

I added Caceres because if he hadn't kicked Figueroa in the dick a hundred times he would be undefeated at BW with a win over lil' Pettis.

Iaquinta has a lot of potential. I don't think the Lee fight should be used to his detriment, but instead, should showcase the capabilities of Lee.

He's good a fun, aggressive fighting style- both standing and on the feet; has good trainers and sparring partners; good power and improving technique; a possibly underrated submission game. He went for several submissions including a d'arce iirc, in his last fight. This is no doubt helped along by training with Serra and Weidman.

I wouldn't say they're ALL duds. Solid guys have come out of TUF. Just because they're middle of the pack usually doesn't mean they suck.

Tavares didn't even win his season on TUF and is 7-1 in the UFC.

Iaquinta is 3-1.

Gastelum is 2-0.

Chiesa is 3-1.

Etc. Etc. Etc.

He's fun to watch and him dropping for that leglock to defend the single leg (Gif of it here somewhere) was one of the most beautiful things I've seen I a fight ever
