1. OK TS, you're being a bit melodramatic. He wants to become a champ, and then when his contract is up be a free agent and find the best deal. Same as a bunch of UFC fighters who end up at Bellator, UFC fighters who end up re-signing with UFC, and Bellator fighters who re-sign with Bellator. The fact he wants to get multiple bids for his services does not in any universe mean "Bellator is a sinking ship!11!"

2. I sure hope the McKee's red the fine print in the contract....according to this analysis:

For Bellator, the example clause appears even more restrictive in that the champion clause can kick in if a fighter is declared champion “at any time during the Term.” And if exercised, a fighter’s contract is extended by the later of one year or three bouts. According to Topel’s report, 99.1% of UFC contracts and 96.3% of Bellator contracts contained champion clauses.
