AJ and Fury sparred over a rolex

Fury was also getting beaten up by John McDermott at the time so it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Joshua managed to best him in a sparring session. Fury was young, sloppy, uncoordinated, hadn't really learned how to utilize his massive body as an advantage.

He had the handspeed, and he had skills, but it was clear that he had a lot of learning to do if he was to become a heavyweight contender.
He was 10-0 and had won the English title........AJ had only put on a pair of gloves for the first time 2 years previously

Nobody who saw the fight against McDermott, thought he had won the English title.

He was raw as hell and pretty much got beat up by a shorter, pudgy regional fighter.

Yes he was raw but clearly AJ was lightyears behind if he had only been boxing for two years.......Fury probably started boxing when he was 2

Joshua was behind in skill but physically he could probably hang in there. He has always been a big dude who is in great shape. It only took Joshua 2-3 years of boxing to start winning gold medals in the amateurs. A sparring session is different from a fight, a talented rookie can beat up an out of shape pro, if they're gassed out or having an off-day.

It took years for Fury to settle into his 6'9 frame, before that he looked very sloppy and uncoordinated at times, infamously punching himself in the face. Big guys like that take more time to develop, Vitali Klitschko also looked very gangly and awkward early on.

i dont think Joshua had even set foot in a boxing gym by the time fury was already a pro.
