Anyone that isn't stupid and watched the video would know that it's the sun and the ecosystem that's behaving in a sexist manner. Comprehend much?

Saw this in the paper this morning.

While I am not offended by air conditioning, I can tell you that I have a blanket/shawl wrapped around me right his second and it's AUGUST 5.

What? The point is that air conditioning is set to temperatures that are more comfortable for male bodies with male clothing on. Women tolerate cold less and do not wear as many layers in offices. It has nothing to do with the ecosystem.

As pointed out in the video, how dare temperatures be different in air conditioning versus outside on "boiling" summer days? You're racist if you don't care about this.
 
I think it's more to do with the fact that some people will moan when they feel the slightest discomfort.
If some people are a bit too cold or a bit too hot, they'll fucking moan about it until it's absolutely perfect for them.

I hope you don't choke on your callous chauvinism. I suppose next you'll argue that having to put on a sweater or outer layer isn't a huge, world - stopping issue that deserves A LOT of attention. At least listen to their plight before you belittle it.

Slow news day over there apparently. If office temperature being a few degrees cooler than your ideal even makes the list of complaints at work, you've got a pretty sweet job. Maybe they got tired of the wage gap argument that gets demolished by anyone with any idea at all and just moved on to a new complaint.

When you reward victim and oppressed status, everyone wants to be a victim and oppressed. It is tough for upper middle class white women to find a way to categorize themselves as oppressed, but they finally found it in the AC settings.

And yes, it is ridiculous. The decadence of a once great cultural heritage is sad.
 
The complaint while not that important wasn't as dumb as I was expecting while reading the thread tirle. Here's the thing though. Most male office attire is slacks with a button down(long pants and long shirt) and sometimes a jacket(but usually can be taken off). Women can where dresses, skirts, shorts and sleeveless tops. Even mens socks and dress shoes vs heels is a big difference in body heat raintained/lost. Women can always put more on, while males cannot take more off. So it should be set for the males. Would you rather have men sweating(that would also look bad in meetings and whatnot) and having the office smell or have women bring/leave some kind of formal outer layer at the office...

Men control the ac women get a significantly higher choice of clothing to wear.
 
With higher av body fat % women should be more comfortable with lower temperatures.

Taking this at face value (as it certainly should be taken):
And you want equal pay? You're not doing a god damned thing. Just sitting there. Maybe if you got off your flabby ass and did something, you'd generate some heat in your body and you wouldn't be so cold.

But to be honest I am interested in how air conditioning affects the black community. Somehow this has gone unaddressed.
